Families Outside Online Training Sessions
Families Outside is hosting 3 upcoming training sessions, designed to be suitable for professionals from any sector who want to feel more confident when supporting families affected by imprisonment in their own role. Places are £55 per person, per session. Happening throughout June, the sessions are being held online via Microsoft Teams.
Strathcarron Hospice #BeeYellow Fundraising Campaign
Strathcarron Hospice is looking for schools, colleges, community groups, clubs and workplaces to host a fundraising yellow dress-up (or dress down) day, or organise any other fun #BeeYellow activity, whilst raising money for the Hospice at the same time. Activities can take place any day in June.
FDAMH Managing Menopause Course
Falkirk’s Mental Health Association (FDAMH) is running a series of free short courses aiming to help people deal with the psychological effects which menopause can bring. Funded by the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund (managed by CVS Falkirk & District), the courses are designed to be informative and supportive, and educate participants.
National Smile Month Resources
National Smile Month 2025 runs Monday 12 May – Friday 13 June, with a theme of “Feed Your Smile”, emphasising the connection between diet and oral health. NHS Forth Valley also has a range of free oral health resources via their Health Information Resources Library.

PVG Membership Changes Grace Period
Membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is now a legal requirement for individuals carrying out a regulated role. There is a 3 month grace period (Tuesday 1 April – Monday 30th June 2025) during which PVG scheme applications must be submitted for those who were in a regulated role prior to April. Our team at CVS Falkirk & District strongly recommends that you submit any application requests to Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services (VSDS) as soon as possible.
Special Constable Volunteer Online Recruitment Events
Police Scotland is running free online Special Constable recruitment events, on Thursday 22 May 2025, 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm, and on Saturday 24 May 2025, 10am – 12pm.
abrdn Charitable Foundation Small Grants Programme
The abrdn Charitable Foundation’s (aCF) Small Grants Programme is open to local charities and not for profit community groups, who can apply for small grants of up to £5,000. These unrestricted grants are intended for short-term projects and are available year-round.
Take a Break Grants
Applications for the Take a Break grant opened earlier this week, on Tuesday 13 May 2025. This year, eligibility has changed to parent carers (including eligible kinship carers) of disabled, and seriously ill children and young people aged 0 – 17 years old. Applications close at 5pm on Monday 30 June 2025.
