Volunteer Scotland is developing a new network for people who support and organise volunteers. To support this, they have created a short online survey for volunteer organisers to submit their thoughts. The closing date for responses is Friday 9 October 2026.

Our team at CVS Falkirk & District has been contacted by an IT professional, who has a strong background in designing and delivering digital products across various platforms. They are seeking a local volunteer opportunity in web design or IT to leverage their skills and technical knowledge while gaining experience in the UK.

Volunteer Scotland’s latest Learning Byte video focuses on organisations’ legal responsibilities under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. The video looks at when disclosure checks (including Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG)) are legally required, the minimum age for scheme membership, an organisation’s duty to refer, and when this applies.

The Open University’s Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership (CVSL) provides a number of free courses, including Developing Leadership Practice in Voluntary Organisations. The course is designed to provide an opportunity for people working within third sector organisations to develop energetic, practical and thoughtful leadership practice. The course involves approximately 15 hours of study, divided up into 5 weekly sections. Upon completion, participants will receive a Statement of Participation.

Join CVS Falkirk & District for our upcoming Connecting Volunteering Network on Wednesday 26 August 2026, 10am – 12pm, at Arnotdale House, Dollar Park, Camelon Road, Falkirk, FK1 5SQ. The network is for anyone involved in supporting or managing volunteers and provides a space to meet, share experiences, discuss topics relevant to volunteering within the third-sector, and network.
