V-Bulletin: Volunteer Opportunities Hotlist
The “V-Bulletin” aims to reach volunteers across the Falkirk District, providing direct information and support to promote and highlight the impact of volunteering across our local areas. To support this, and ensure our opportunities are current and updated regularly, we are looking to our volunteer-involving organisations to get in touch with their opportunities with the promised outreach of over 1,100 potential volunteers receiving information about your goals and needs directly in their inbox!
This new bulletin will be delivered on the final Wednesday of each month, and looks to provide volunteer opportunities, training information, and provide general support for volunteers (such as engaging with Saltire Awards). If you are an individual interested in receiving this, please complete our Sign Up Form (linked).
If you would like to include a volunteer opportunity, please contact us by email: info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk. If you would like some support in creating this narrative, our volunteering team will be happy to assist you.
Volunteer Opportunities Search
Looking for an opportunity to volunteer close to home? Or are you interested in volunteering in a specific way, such as with animals or at one-off events?
Then check out our Volunteer Opportunities Search widget! You can filter available roles by location, topic, and even how far you’re able to travel outside of Falkirk District.
Saltire Awards
Endorsed by Scottish Government, the Saltire Awards recognise you, as a young person aged between 12 and 25 years, for your volunteering and help you to positively chart your volunteering journey. The Saltire Awards are progressive and not only can you move up between the different levels but you can enter at different stages depending on your journey into volunteering.
Visit the dedicated Saltire Awards page (linked) for details on how to get involved.
Volunteering and DWP Welfare Benefits
Our team at CVS Falkirk & District work closely with Jobcentre Plus in Falkirk and Grangemouth to highlight volunteering opportunities that are available and to support their staff in encouraging people to volunteer.
The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has published guidance on volunteering while claiming benefits, which we’ve added to our website (linked) as a handy reference for local volunteers.
