Volunteer Scotland has announced the details of the Volunteering Action Plan Conference 2026, taking place on Tuesday 17 November 2026, 10am – 4pm, either online or in-person at The Barracks Conference Centre in Stirling.

Volunteer Opportunity: Children’s Panel Members
The Children’s Panel is a care and justice system in Scotland which exists to protect the safety and wellbeing of infants, children and young people nationally, and makes legal decisions on how to support those who come to children’s hearings. At every children’s hearing, there are always three volunteer Panel Members, whose role is to listen to the child or young person’s views, understand their circumstances, and ultimately make legal decisions about how to best protect and care for them.
Young Trustees Community Café
The Young Trustees Movement’s next online Community Café takes place on Wednesday 16 September 2026, 12pm – 1pm. The session will begin with a Q&A with a young trustee, followed by breakout rooms with space for networking, sharing advice, and meaningful conversations.
Volunteers’ Week 2027 Dates Announced
Volunteers’ Week 2027 will run from Monday 7 June 2027 until Sunday 13 June 2027.
Volunteer Opportunity: Pause and Breathe CIC Chair
Pause and Breathe CIC is looking for a new Chair of the Board to help guide its next chapter of growth. The organisation is seeking someone who shares its values and can work alongside the CEO. Previous board experience would be an advantage, particularly within the charity or third sector, but is not essential.
Volunteer Opportunities: Freedom of Mind Community Choir
Freedom of Mind Community Choir is a non-audition community choir based in Falkirk, dedicated to the physical, social, and emotional benefits of group singing. The choir meets weekly to create a safe, supportive space for adults, with priority spaces for those with lived experience of mental ill-health. They currently have a number of volunteer opportunities available, including: Volunteer Secretary, Volunteer Fundraiser, Volunteer Evaluator, and Volunteer Marketing & Communications Assistant. The deadline for registering your interest is 5pm on Friday 11 September 2026.
Volunteer Opportunities: Central Wellbeing SCIO
Central Wellbeing SCIO is a peer support mental health charity established in 2021 and based in Falkirk town centre, dedicated to providing compassion, understanding and a safe space for those navigating the challenges of poor mental health. Their support includes facilitating peer support groups and community activities in the Forth Valley area. They are currently looking to recruit new volunteers for a number of roles, including: Community Ambassadors, Peer Support Volunteers, Helping Hands Volunteers, Skills Sharers, and Digital Champions.
Volunteer Opportunity: FDAMH Young Trustee
FDAMH is looking for a passionate young person, aged 18 – 30 years old, to join their Board of Trustees. As a trustee, volunteers will have the opportunity to build strategic decision-making and management skills, and work alongside a network with established professionals. Previous board experience is not required. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 8 September 2026.
Volunteer Opportunity: Forth Valley Visually Impaired Bowlers
Forth Valley Visually Impaired Bowlers is a group of people who are blind or partially sighted, and who play indoor and outdoor bowls, meeting once a week for a two hour bounce game. During summer months, they play at Larbert Bowling Club on Friday afternoons, and at Falkirk Indoor Bowling Centre on Wednesday afternoons during the winter months. The groups is looking for volunteers to help assist the visually impaired bowlers during these bounce games.
Volunteer Opportunity: Puppy Raiser with Guide Dogs Scotland
Guide Dogs is one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities, and provides a wide range of services (with and without dogs) to support people of all ages living with a vision impairment. In Scotland, the organisation is currently looking for volunteers aged over 18 years old to become Puppy Raisers.
