Breakthrough T1D is looking for Bucket Collection Volunteers to help raise as much money as possible at the upcoming Falkirk FC match on Saturday 21 March 2026, 1:45pm – 5:30pm, at Falkirk Football Stadium, 4 Stadium Way, Falkirk, FK2 9EE. All volunteers will receive a Breakthrough T1D t-shirt, a match ticket and a voucher for a pie and drink. A staff member wearing a blue Breakthrough T1D be there to support volunteers on the day.

Volunteer Opportunity: HippFest Volunteers
HippFest, Scotland’s first and only festival of silent film with live music, is looking for volunteers to help deliver their 2026 Festival. Volunteers must be available for an induction meeting on Thursday 5 March 2026, 5:30pm – 7pm, at the Hippodrome, Bo’ness. All volunteers must commit to at least 2 sessions (6 hours each) during the festival, running Tuesday 17 March 2026 – Sunday 22 March 2026. These will take place between 11am – 10pm.
Falkirk Food Train Open Days
Falkirk Food Train supports older people in local communities to remain living in their own home, as independently as possible. The Falkirk team is currently looking to recruit new volunteers. They will be holding various in person drop-in sessions in February and welcome anyone interested to go along and find out more about what they do, the volunteer roles available and how you could make a difference to older people in your community.

PVG Scheme Membership Updates
Regulations laid in Scottish Parliament confirm that the 5 year Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership will come into force on Wednesday 1 April 2026. From this point, people who join the PVG scheme will automatically be part of the 5 year scheme membership. Every 5 years, renewal will be required.
Canine Partners 2026 Virtual Open Days
Canine Partners is holding a number of virtual Open Days in 2026 for people in Scotland, taking place on Monday 23 February 2026, 12:30pm – 2pm, Saturday 27 June 2026, 10am – 11:30am, and Thursday 19 November 2026, 6:30pm – 8pm.
Volunteer Opportunity: Re-engage Telephone Befrienders
Telephone Befrienders are matched to an older person for a weekly or fortnightly chat. Conversations can be about anything and everything and take place from the comfort of the volunteer’s own home, scheduled at a time that suits them. There will be an online induction session with video, and full onboarding training. Each volunteer will have a named contact at Re-engage for support.
