Meet the Canine Partners Event
Canine Partners is holding an event in Edinburgh as an opportunity for potential volunteers, supporters and organisations to learn about what they do, find out more and see their brand-new virtual demonstration of how they train their dogs. Attendees can also hear first-hand from someone who has a life-changing assistance dog. The event takes place on Friday 17 October 2025, 12pm – 2pm, in the Robertson Suite of The Eric Liddell Community, 15 Morningside Road, Edinburgh, EH10 4DP.

Volunteer Opportunities: Bo’ness Networking Group
The Bo’ness Networking Group (Bo’net) is looking for new committee members (trustees), and event volunteers. The organisation – which supports community groups and has organised projects like the revamp at Bo’ness Hospital Garden – says it needs “fresh faces” to keep projects growing.
Volunteer Opportunities: Denny Stroke Club
Denny Stroke Club is a volunteer-run, user-led community organisation. The Club provides peer support to stroke survivors, their friends and families, allowing space to meet and socialise with people who understand what they are going through. The Club is currently looking to recruit new volunteers in a number of roles.
Volunteer Opportunity: Falkirk District Scouts Chair
Falkirk District Scouts is looking for a new District Chair to lead its Board of Trustees. Applicants should have strong leadership and teamworking skills, and be passionate about youth development, though no prior Scouting experience is required.
Met Office Community Responder Training Prospectus
The Met Office Community Responder Training Prospectus is aimed at those who work or volunteer in the local community to make them more resilient to severe weather events.
Volunteer Opportunity: MCR Pathways Mentors
MCR Pathways supports young people who have experienced disadvantage and helps them to realise their full potential through education. The programme pairs Volunteer Mentors with students, and Mentors spend an hour each week listening to and encouraging a young person in their school. The programme is currently expanding across Falkirk District to include 3 new schools, which means more Volunteers Mentors are being recruited to support local students.
