Based on feedback received during events and training sessions, Volunteer Scotland is developing a new network for people who support and organise volunteers.
Membership of the network will be offered on a sliding scale: those who organise volunteers on a voluntary basis (i.e. as volunteers themselves) can access the network for free, while paid volunteer organisers can join the network for a small fee. Membership fees will directly support the delivery of the network’s activities.
The new network aims to provide more opportunities for volunteer organisers to connect and share learning. Volunteer Scotland is keen to ensure this new network responds to the needs of the broad range of people who support volunteering across Scotland, and is shaped by its future members. To support this effort, they have created a short online survey for volunteer organisers to submit their thoughts.
The survey’s 11 questions are designed to help Volunteer Scotland understand the challenges volunteer organisers face, the support they would find most valuable, and what would make them join and actively participate in a member-led volunteer development network. The questions are mainly multiple choice, and the survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
The closing date for responses is Friday 9 October 2026.
