Under The Trees are looking for volunteers, aged 16 – 24 years old, to help them provide outdoor education sessions for children and young people in schools throughout both the Falkirk and Stirling areas.

Community Justice Discussion at Safer Communities Forum
The Community Justice Partnership seeks to support and manage people who have committed offences from the point of arrest, through prosecution, custody or community disposal and alternatives, until they are reintegrated. With the current Outcomes Improvement Plan due for revision before Tuesday 31st March, third sector groups and organisations are invited to take part in discussion during the next Safer Communities Forum meeting on Wednesday 15th January.
Communities Call for Climate Action
Community organisations have the opportunity to sign up to the Communities Call for Climate Action, which calls for Scottish Government to do more to tackle climate change and to recognise and support the role of community organisations in making major necessary changes. The Call for Action has been written by a group of organisations working across Scotland to raise awareness and encourage action towards solving the climate emergency.
Police Scotland Banking Protocol Information Video
Police Scotland’s Forth Valley division has developed a new Banking Protocol information video, with input from Royal Bank of Scotland colleagues. The video outlines the shared responsibilities of individuals and their family members, with the Banking Protocol a “last line of defence” against fraudulent activity.
Digital Skills Scotland Fully Funded Online Courses
Digital Skills Scotland have secured funding for 2020 for a range of fully funded online courses aimed at supporting individuals and businesses who want to learn and progress. Courses include Digital Marketing, Videography, and App Development, and are accredited by the NCFE. Places are limited, and early sign ups are advised.
EU Settlement Scheme Information Session
The EU Citizens Rights Project is hosting an EU Settlement Scheme Information Session on Monday 20th January, 6pm – 8pm at the Raploch Community Campus, Forth Valley College, Drip Road, Stirling, FK8 1RD. The session will cover what the EU Settlement Scheme is, and when and how to apply, amongst other points. There will also be a legal speaker and Q&A session. Additionally, EU citizens and their family members will have the opportunity to book individual appointments with a trained immigration advisor.
Scottish Government Dog Law Review
Scottish Government is reviewing current dog control law. This initial consultation is focused on improving the operational effectiveness of the Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010, to aid enforcement agencies. The deadline for responses is Wednesday 15th January.
Forth Environment Link January Community Meal
Forth Environment Link’s Community Meals return for 2020 with the first of the year taking place on Wednesday 15th January, 6pm – 7:30pm at their Falkirk office, 199A – 203 High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1DU. The event is free and open to everyone, though donations are welcome.
