The Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre (FVRCC) will be holding their annual Reclaim the Night March and afterparty on Thursday 12th March in Stirling, to coincide with International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March. Participants will meet at the Stirling Castle Esplanade car park at 6:30pm, with the march beginning at 7pm, making its way through Stirling towards the afterparty venue for 8pm.

Grangemouth Friendship Group
A new friendship group for people living with dementia, and their carers, has been launched by Town Break in Grangemouth. The Grangemouth Friendship Group takes place on the first Thursday of every month, 1pm – 3pm at the Bowhouse Community Centre, Bowhouse Road, Grangemouth, FK3 0EU. The first group will be held on Thursday 5th March. The group is free to attend, but places are limited, and those interested should book their place via referral form in advance.
Child Protection Awareness Training Opportunity
CVS Falkirk is gathering expressions of interest from Falkirk groups and organisations who would like to take part in Youth Scotland’s Child Protection Awareness training. The training is free of charge, however Youth Scotland require a certain amount of people in attendance, in order to hold the session. There have currently been 8 places requested at this training, meaning at least another 4 people from other local third sector organisations are needed in order for the training session to go ahead.
Bonnybridge Coffee and Company Morning
The Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is now holding a Coffee and Company Morning every Wednesday, 12:30pm – 2:30pm at Bonnybridge Community Centre, 19 Bridge Street, Bonnybridge, FK4 1AA. Refreshments are available, along with an opportunity to meet new people and find out what is going on in the local area.

Forth Valley Third Sector Conference 2020: Booking Open!
Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE), CVS Falkirk and Clackmannanshire TSI (CTSI) are delighted to announce that we will be holding our third annual Forth Valley Third Sector Conference on Tuesday 12th May at the brand new Barracks Conference Centre in Stirling, and booking is now open! Our theme this year is “Investing in Your Place: People, Place, Participation”, and keynote speakers will be Aileen Campbell, MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Local Government, and Kenneth Ferguson, Director of the Robertson Trust. Early bird tickets of £15 are available until the end of February.

Speaking of bees, this week’s spotlight features on CharityBee, who offer the third sector bespoke support services and sector-specific advice, and Crowdfund Scotland, who you might remember have just announced their local workshops with Kelvin Valley and Falkirk LEADER. Clear Pathway Guidance Survey: Volunteering in NHS Settings
Voluntary Health Scotland (VHS) has launched an online survey to help evaluate the Clear Pathway guidance. They are keen to hear from third sector organisations that actively recruit and engage volunteers in hospitals and other NHS settings – even those who are not familiar with the guidance. The deadline for responses is Friday 21st February.
“Community Owned Shops and Pubs” Free Workshop
Falkirk Funders Fayre exhibitors Community Shares Scotland, alongside their partners at Cooperatives Development Scotland and the Plunkett Foundation, are delivering a free workshop, “Community Owned Shops and Pubs: Making It Easy”, on Friday 13th March. The workshop takes place 10am – 4pm at the Norton Park Conference Centre, 57 Albion Road, Edinburgh, EH7 5QY, and aims to give groups in the early stages of community ownership the knowledge they need to get their projects moving. Speakers will cover fundraising, governance and engaging local communities.
Voluntary Sector Children’s Services Forum: First Meeting of 2020
The Third Sector Voluntary Sector Children’s Services Forum returns for 2020 on Thursday 27th February, 10am – 12pm at the CVS Falkirk office, Unit 6, Callendar Business Park, Callendar Road, Falkirk, FK1 1XR.
