Scottish Government’s Bright Start Breakfasts Fund closes for new applications at 12pm on Monday 2nd June 2025. The fund aims to expand breakfast clubs in primary and Additional Support for Learning schools, focusing on children from low-income families, and support both new and existing clubs, aiming for national reach. Inspiring Scotland, who manages the fund, is particularly keen to receive applications from areas like Falkirk District, where no applications have yet been submitted.

NHS Forth Valley Sexual Health and Young People Network Event
Places are available at the upcoming Sexual Health and Young People Network Event, hosted by NHS Forth Valley’s Health Improvement Service on Friday 13 June 2025, 9:30 am – 1pm. Taking place in Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert, the event aims to explore some of the challenges in talking to young people about relationships and sexual health.
Free 2 Day Mental Health First Aid Training Course
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is offering free Mental Health First Aid training on Monday 9 June 2025 and Tuesday 10 June 2025; sessions run 9:30am – 4:30pm in the Falkirk District area. Open to staff, volunteers, community members, the 2 day course aims to help participants build skills in supporting people in mental distress, tackling stigma, and promoting mental wellbeing. Participants must attend both days.
Money Advice Scotland June Sessions
Money Advice Scotland has relaunched its Train the Trainer sessions for 2025, renamed as “An Introduction to Financial Wellbeing – Training for Third Sector Practitioners”, which will next take place online on Wednesday 11 June 2025, 9:30am – 12:30pm. Also in June, they will be holding the next of their Get Financially Fit series, “Credit & Credit Reports Cardio”, on Thursday 19 June 2025, 12pm – 12:45pm, and will be releasing their recorded webinar, “Ask the Expert: An Introduction to Wills”.
Rethink Dementia Campaign and Toolkit
Ahead of Dementia Awareness Week, which also takes place next week (Monday 2 June 2025 – Sunday 8 June 2025), Scottish Government and COSLA are highlighting their Rethink Dementia toolkit and assets to help raise awareness and support people living with dementia. This year’s Dementia Awareness Week theme, “Every Step” aligns with the Rethink Dementia campaign message, focusing on the importance of friendship, emotional connections and social interactions in lives of people with dementia and their care partners.
