“Managing and Preventing Harmful Sexual Behaviour” Training Course
NHS Forth Valley, Clackmannanshire Council, and Stirling Council have organised “Managing and Preventing Harmful Sexual Behaviour in young people” training, taking place via Teams on Tuesday 14th June, 10am – 12pm, and Wednesday 21st September, 10am – 12pm. This course is open to professionals across Forth Valley, working with and supporting young people of school age with regards to harmful sexual behaviour.
Ukraine Super Sponsor Scheme: Guidance for Hosts
Scottish Government has issued guidance for those hosting people and families fleeing Ukraine. This is primarily at hosts using Scotland’s Super Sponsor scheme, but it also sets out the expectations and requirements of hosting a displaced person from Ukraine in Scotland for individual/private sponsors under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.

Volunteer Awards 2022: Winners Announced
In case you missed our social media posts, we’ve announced the winners of this year’s Volunteer Awards! Our thanks again to our independent panel of judges, who had the difficult job of selecting one nomination from each category. A huge Volunteers’ Week congratulations to everyone mentioned above, and to every single volunteer who was nominated, and all of those who were not – Falkirk wouldn’t be the same without you all!
Info Session: Falkirk’s Investment in Numeracy Skills
As part of the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, resource is available to support numeracy learning and development for adults aged 19 years and above in the Falkirk and District area through the “Multiply” element of the investment. Third sector groups and organisations who would like to find out more about this investment, and about the opportunity to contribute to upskilling local people who need support with their numeracy skills, are invited to an online Zoom meeting on Monday 6th June, 10am – 12pm.
The Circle Academy Cohort Pitch Event
The Circle Academy’s Cohort 6, funded by Scottish Government, is now drawing to a close, and will finish with a virtual pitch contest on Thursday 9th June, 3pm – 5pm. This year, The Circle Academy has opened the contest to members of the public, with free places available. Finalist candidates from the cohort will talk about their projects for 3 minutes, pitching in front of the event audience, and a judging panel, for the chance to win a small amount of funding for their work. The panel will then determine the winner.
Quality Standards in Volunteering Online Sessions
Volunteer Scotland’s Volunteer Practice Team is holding a series of free online sessions, via Zoom, to discuss what quality standards are available to support groups and organisations, and their volunteer programme. The first session takes place on Tuesday 7th June (the last day of Volunteers’ Week), 2pm – 4pm, via Zoom.
Henry Duncan Grants Open for 2022 Applications
The Henry Duncan Grants’ 2022 round is now open for applications. Managed by the Corra Foundation, this year’s funding is open groups and organisations who support children and young people aged 6 – 26 years old, who are experiencing inequality. Grassroots organisations with an annual income of £500,000 or less can apply for up to £8,000 a year, for up to 5 years. The deadline for applications is 12pm on Tuesday 5th July.
