The LandAid Young Futures Fund is now open for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from organisations supporting young people aged 16 – 25 years old who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. The fund focuses on projects across the UK which increase access to safe, secure, and affordable housing, alongside the practical support to help young people maintain tenancies, manage their homes, and move towards independent living. The deadline for submitting an EOI is Friday 22 May 2026.

Falkirk Carers’ Voice Meetings for Unpaid Carers
Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre hosts the Falkirk Carers’ Voice meetings on the last Monday of the month, 10am – 12pm, with the next meeting taking place on Monday 25 May 2026. Carers can attend online via Zoom, or in-person at the Centre, 1A Bank Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NB. The meetings aim provide an opportunity for carers to meet with other carers, representatives from local authorities, and other third sector organisations.
Life in Scotland Young People’s Steering Group
Young people across Scotland are invited to help shape national LGBTQ+ research through a new opportunity with LGBT Youth Scotland. The Young People’s Steering Group will co-design the Life in Scotland 2026 – 2027 project, creating a national survey, analysing findings and developing recommendations, which will help inform policy, services and support for LGBTQ+ communities.. Open to LGBTQ+ or questioning people aged 13 – 25 years old, the group will meet up to 10 times between May 2026 and May 2027. Applications to get involved close at 9am on Monday 11 May 2026.
FitUnity Classes Across Falkirk District
FitUnity is a non-profit organisation aiming to bring Fitness and Fun into communities through group fitness classes. Classes are £3 per person, and available people aged over 16 years old of all fitness levels. Classes include cardio and toning sessions, and pilates, take place at Tamfourhill Community Hub on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Carron & Carronshore Community Centre on Wednesday evenings, and Shieldhill Community Centre on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, There is no need to book, and everyone is welcome.

Demystifying Death Week: Local Events
Demystifying Death Week (4-10 May 2026) is about giving people the knowledge, skills and opportunities to plan and support each other through serious illness, dying, loss and care. Throughout the week, there will be a series of events encouraging open conversations about dying, death and bereavement taking place across the Falkirk District, hosted by Falkirk Council as well as local organisations.

International Guide Dog Day: Get Involved Locally
Earlier this week, we celebrated International Guide Dog Day 2026 (Wednesday 29 April)! Guide dogs give people with sight loss the confidence to get out safely and live the life they choose. Guide Dogs Scotland is one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities, and are active locally. Within the Falkirk District, you can get involved and support their work by volunteering.
