Through the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, arts organisations and charities working with schools, colleges and other formal education settings can apply for grants of £30,000 – £300,000 to deliver high-quality arts-based learning projects lasting two to four years.
The Arts-based Learning Fund aims to improve the lives and achievements of children and young people experiencing inequality, with priorities including:
- support for disadvantaged pupils
- expanding access to arts-based teaching in underserved schools
- addressing inclusion and racism
- developing digital and blended learning
- embedding arts in curricula for the long term
Applications are accepted year-round, and must be made in partnership with schools or other formal education settings. The fund particularly welcomes organisations led by those most affected by oppression.
Applications are invited from charities, social enterprises and not‑for‑profit arts organisations working with state‑funded schools, further education, SEND and alternative provision settings. Both established programmes and new approaches are eligible. Organisations led by individuals with lived experience of inequality are especially encouraged to apply.
Funding can support core costs, delivery, training and evaluation. The fund does not support applications from schools, universities (with some exceptions), or work which is statutory, therapeutic or not arts‑based.
