Volunteer Scotland has announced a range of in-person training sessions taking place from August. All sessions will be delivered at their office in Stirling, 10am – 4pm, with lunch provided.

Braveheart FREE Weekly Walks
Braveheart is running free, friendly, low level Weekly Walks throughout the summer, encouraging everyone to become more physically and socially active. The walks are open to everyone, of all abilities, and Braveheart and their Walk Leaders can support people living with long term conditions who want to take part.
Cyrenians Young Adult Service! for Ukrainians in Falkirk
Cyrenians in Falkirk have launched their new Young Adult Service! (YAS!) for young Ukrainian adults aged 16 – 24 years old, living across Falkirk District. The service will help support young adults in their introduction, and integration, to the local communities, and help reduce social isolation through encouraging the young people to be socially active.
Andy’s Man Club at Stenhousemuir
Andy’s Man Club, a support group dedicated to men’s mental health, has recently celebrated one year of their Falkirk District group, which takes place every Monday at 7pm, Ochilview Park stadium, Gladstone Road, Stenhousemuir, FK5 4QL. The group is open to all men in the community, offering a safe and non-judgmental space for men of all ages and backgrounds.
Sporting Chance Programme for Young People
LinkLiving and Falkirk Foundation are running a new 8 week programme which combines the personal development needs of young people in Falkirk District with health and fitness. Funded by the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, Sporting Chance will run every Thursday and Friday, 10am – 3pm. LinkLiving will provide lunch at each session, and bus vouchers to cover travel costs.
Neighbourhood Networks Clothing Swap Shop Event
Neighbourhood Networks is hosting a Clothing Swap Shop event on Saturday 8th July, 1pm – 3pm at the Falkirk Sewing Studio, in Callendar Square Shopping Centre, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1UJ. They are looking for any clothing donations, hangers and plastic bags in advance of the event.
New Strathcarron Hospice Stenhousemuir Flagship Shop Opening!
Strathcarron Hospice is relocating their Stenhousemuir charity shop, with opening day taking place this Saturday 1st July from 10am. The new shop is based in the former B&M store (next to Asda) on Hallam Road, Stenhousemuir, FK5 3DB. People will also have the opportunity to sit with a tea or coffee, relax and chat in the new “community living room”, which is funded by the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund.
Volunteer Scotland Disclosure Services Training Sessions
Volunteer Scotland has a range of FREE Disclosure Services (VSDS) training sessions available both online and in-person (with in-person sessions delivered at their office in Stirling). Sessions are running throughout July, August and September, with topics including PVG and Signatory Training, Regulated Work, and Referrals and Recruitment.
HACE Survey Volunteers
Scottish Government is looking for around 50 volunteers to help improve the 2023/24 Health and Care Experience (HACE) Survey. Volunteers should be aged 17 years old and over, and registered with a GP in Scotland. They will test and provide feedback on the questionnaire, by sense-checking the questions and supporting materials. The deadline to register your interest is next Friday 30th June.
CyberScotland Partnership Funding Initiative
Organisations are invited to submit proposals for grant-funded activity aimed at bolstering cyber resilience through a new CyberScotland Partnership Funding Initiative. Grants of £5,000 to £50,000 are available for activities delivering progress on The Strategic Framework for a Cyber Resilient Scotland. Proposals must be submitted by 11:59pm on Monday 24th July 2023.
