Grants of more than £10,000 are available via the SP Energy Networks’ Transmission Net Zero Fund, which supports vulnerable communities across central and southern Scotland on their journey to net zero. Those interested in applying must submit an Expression of Interest form; these will be available until 5pm on Friday 7th July.

SYP 2023 Elections: Applications Open
Applications for the Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) Elections are open. Young people aged 14 – 25 years old are invited to stand as a candidate to represent the voice of children and young people in their area. The deadline for applications is Monday 31st July. The SYP elections will take place over 2 weeks in November 2023.
FireSkills Flexible Programme for Young People
FireSkills is a flexible programme from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), for any young people aged between 12 – 18 years old who want to develop key skills in a practical setting. There are no pre-requisites for joining this programme, which has been designed to suit a wide range of learners.

SSYAP 2023 Summer Programme for Young People
The Safer Streets Youth Action Project (SSYAP) 2023 Summer Programme is now live. The summer programme is open to young people aged 10 – 16 years old in Camelon and Tamfourhill, offering a range of summer activities and opportunities. While the programmes are free, spaces are limited and booking is required.
CMS Leadership Academy Fully Funded Employability Programmes
The Coach My Sport (CMS) Leadership Academy CIC is running 2 employability programmes for young people aged 14 – 24 years old, taking place Monday 3rd July and Friday 7th July at the St James Research Centre, St James Church, Thornhill Road, Falkirk, FK2 7AZ. The course is fully funded, with no cost to participants.
SafeDeposits Scotland Community Fund
SafeDeposits Scotland has introduced a Community Fund, designed to provide small grants to projects enhancing communities across Scotland. The SafeDeposits Scotland Community Fund will award grants up to a maximum value of £2,000. The first application deadline is Friday 30th June 2023.
PHS COVID-19 Early Years Resilience and Impact Survey
Public Health Scotland (PHS) has launched their COVID-19 Early Years Resilience and Impact Survey (Round 4). This particular survey is open to families with children aged up to 11 years old, and can be completed regardless of whether the family has taken part in any previous PHS surveys.
Falkirk Council Employability Framework: Open for Bids to Join
The invitation for organisations to join the Falkirk Council Employability Framework, and to submit a bid for investment for employability support projects, has now been published on Public Contracts Scotland. Organisations must first register as a supplier with Public Contracts Scotland to join the Falkirk Employability Framework, before they will be able to submit a bid. The deadline for bids is 11am on Monday 3rd July 2023.
STS Summer Social 2023 Event
Sustainable Thinking Scotland CIC will be holding their Summer Social 2023 event next Saturday 24th June, 1pm – 4pm at the Walled Garden in the Kinneil Estate, Bo’ness, EH51 0PR. There will be a range of games and activities, plus music, market stalls, and a barbecue.
