Invitation to Open Meeting – Help Shape Falkirk’s First Christmas Tree Festival
Falkirk Delivers are delighted to be planning Falkirk’s first-ever Christmas Tree Festival, which is set to take place in December 2025. This will be a community-led celebration filled with festive creativity, lights and local pride. It is hoped the festival will be based at the old Wilko site, subject to the relevant permissions being finalised. To get things started, they’re inviting local groups, businesses and organisations to an open meeting at 12.30pm, on Tuesday 1 April 2025 to hear more about the festival and explore how you can be involved.
Step on Stress Course
Step on Stress is stress management course available to people living and working across Forth Valley over 16 years of age. It is aimed at those with mild-moderate levels of stress and teaches some of the causes and triggers of stress. It also provides techniques to manage the symptoms. Step on Stress is pre-recorded and live-streamed once a week over 3-weeks.
Disclosure Scotland Guidance on Regulated Roles
Disclosure Scotland’s changes to their services come into effect next Tuesday 1 April 2025. This is part of the process for implementing the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under these changes, the volunteer roles your organisation offer (including Trustee and Director roles) may now legally require a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check.
Aldi’s Scottish Sport Fund for Central Scotland
Through Aldi’s Scottish Sport Fund, grants of up to £2,500 are available to organisations including third sector groups, sports clubs, schools, religious organisations and Scout and Guides groups in Central Scotland, to run sporting activities for the benefit of people in the local community. To be eligible, projects must be located in areas where there is currently an Aldi store.
Grants for Good New Round Open
The Matthew Good Foundation has opened the next round of its Grants for Good Fund. The fund aims to support small charities, not for profit groups, and social entrepreneurs passionate about making a difference for people, their communities, and the environment. The next deadline is Sunday 15 June 2025.
Help Shape Cancer Support Services in Forth Valley
Macmillan Cancer Support is expanding its One to One service in Forth Valley, supported by NHS Forth Valley and local health partnerships. The service provides ongoing support for those affected by cancer, focusing on physical, emotional, and practical needs. To help shape the expansion, an online survey is being conducted to gather feedback from cancer patients, families, and carers. Responses are anonymous, and the survey will be open until Wednesday 30 April 2025.
