CVS Falkirk & District is working with Linking Lives to offer local volunteers “Good Conversations” training. This training is FREE for volunteers looking to improve their conversation skills, who help within a community activity. We would like to gauge interest in this training session; therefore, the date, time and venue is yet to be confirmed. Spaces are limited and numbers will be restricted per group.

Community Empowerment Grant Now Open
The Community Empowerment Grant, administered by Falkirk Council, is now open for applications. The Community Empowerment Fund (part of the broader UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF)) is a community capacity building initiative aiming to boost local community projects across the Falkirk District. As the programme is time limited, all funds will be allocated from a single round of grant applications and awards in the coming weeks, with deadlines for all grants in June 2025.

Community Development Alliance Scotland (CDAS) has announced that this year’s annual national conference will take place on Wednesday 24 September 2025 at the The Steeple Centre, Nethergate, Dundee.
Health and Wellbeing Forum: “Supporting Unpaid Carers”
CVS Falkirk & District invites you to our next Health and Wellbeing Forum on Wednesday 4 June 2025, from 9:45am – 1pm at Westfield Park Community Centre, Westfield Street, Falkirk, FK2 9DX. This in-person session focuses on support for unpaid carers, with guest speakers from Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre.
2025 Scottish Charity Awards Finalists Announced
The finalists for the Scottish Charity Awards 2025 have been announced. While a judging panel will determine the winners of 10 categories, members of the public can vote for their favourite overall entry in the People’s Choice Award. The public vote will close at 5pm on Tuesday 20 May 2025.
Bowel Cancer UK Roadshow: Falkirk District Visits
The Bowel Cancer UK team is visiting 3 areas across Falkirk & District to answer people’s questions or listen to any worries people may have about bowel cancer, whether that’s about themselves, a loved one or a friend. The team will be present at the following locations: Tuesday 20 May, 10am – 4pm, Asda Grangemouth; Wednesday 21 May, 10am – 4pm, Tesco Superstore Falkirk; Thursday 22 May, 10am – 4pm, Tesco Superstore Camelon.
Step on Stress Bonnybridge Course
NHS Forth Valley has re-established in-person free Step on Stress courses, and is running a 3 week series aimed at those living and working in the Falkirk District. These sessions will take place 6:30pm – 7:45pm at Bonnybridge Community Hub, Bridge Street, Bonnybridge, FK4 1AA, beginning on Tuesday 13 May 2025.
FREE CPR Training Session
St John Ambulance is running a free CPR training session, supported by the Grangemouth Community Policing Team, taking place this coming Saturday 10 May 2025, 1pm – 3pm at the Grangemouth Sports Complex’s Dance Studio, Abbots Road, Grangemouth, FK3 9JB.

FVSEN June 2025 Meeting
The next Forth Valley Social Enterprise Network (FVSEN) meeting will be held, in person, on Thursday 12 June 2025, 12pm – 3pm at the Mayfield Centre, Sunnybank Road, St Ninians, Stirling, FK7 0DB. This meeting will feature speakers from Social Enterprise Scotland and Community Enterprise, along with some light entertainment from Wee Country. Lunch is also available.
