Inspire Denny and Dunipace is holding a Spring Litter Pick on Saturday 18th March, from 10am, and are looking for people to join them. They will be litter picking along the periphery of Spine Road in Denny, starting from Fleming Court, and continuing along the scenic walk around both reservoirs, and Anderson Park.

Tamfourhill Community Hub Clean Up
Tamfourhill Community Hub, with TCV Scotland, is looking for volunteers this weekend to help tidy up their community forest and growing area, making it safer and more accessible. Volunteers are welcome to drop by this Saturday 11th March, any time between 10:30am – 3pm, at the Hub itself, Machrie Court (off Cumbrae Drive), Tamfourhill, FK1 4SD.
Falkirk Easter School Holiday Food and Activities Fund: CLOSING SUNDAY
The 2023 Easter School Holiday Food and Activities Fund closes to new applications on Sunday 12th March (to ensure funding is process in time for the Easter school holidays), with funding of up to £1,000 available. The fund aims to support local organisations delivering activities and food to children and young people from low-income families during the Easter school holiday.
Local Development Plan 3 Surveys Launched
Falkirk Council has launching the new Local Development Plan (LDP3), which aims to guide growth and change in Falkirk District’s communities into the period beyond 2026. They are looking for feedback from people who live or work in Falkirk’s different communities. The deadline for responses to all surveys is Friday 30th June.
New Detect Cancer Earlier Campaign: “Be The Early Bird”
Scottish Government has launched their new Detect Cancer Earlier campaign, “Be The Early Bird”. The campaign aims to reinforce the benefits of finding cancer earlier, in a bid to challenge fears which stop people acting on signs, and encourage those who have unusual (to them), persistent symptoms to contact their GP practice.
Strathcarron’s Hospice at Home Service Awarded “Excellent” Rating
Strathcarron’s Hospice at Home service has been awarded the highest rating of “Grade 6” and “Excellent” (the highest grading awarded for leadership and supporting people’s wellbeing), across all evaluation parameters inspected by the Care Inspectorate.
STS Spring Fling: Mother’s Day Lunch
Bo’ness-based social enterprise Sustainable Thinking Scotland (STS) CIC has announced a new “Spring Fling: Mother’s Day Lunch” event, taking place on Mother’s Day itself, Sunday 19th March, 12pm – 2pm.
“Festival for Our Future: Bainsford and Langlees” Event
Forth Environment Link (FEL) is holding a free “Festival for Our Future” event on Saturday 18th March, 12pm – 4pm at the Bainsford Community Hall, David’s Loan, Bainsford, FK2 7JS. The event will feature a free buffet from Rainbow Muslim Women’s Group, plus children’s activities and entertainment, smoothie bikes, and a film screening.
Community Emergency Hubs Drop-in Session
Falkirk Council and the Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) are holding a drop-in session on creating Community Emergency Hubs. The session takes place on Friday 17th March, 11am – 4pm, at the Camelon Education Centre, Abercrombie Street, Camelon, FK1 4HA, and is open to everyone from whole Falkirk Council area. Refreshments will be provided.
Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2023
Neurodiversity Celebration Week (NCW) 2023 takes place Monday 13th March – Sunday 19th March. NCW is a worldwide initiative aiming to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions around neurodiversity, while providing opportunities to recognise the strengths and talents of neurodivergent people. There are a number of free online events taking place throughout the week, open to everyone.
