The Fairer Falkirk team is working to develop a strategic action plan to ensure that they are doing everything possible to help households in Falkirk District’s communities claim the benefits they are entitled to. As part of this, they want to ensure that those who support people in local communities have readily available tools and resources, and want to hear from third sector groups and organisations.

Health and Wellbeing Forum: March Meeting
The next Health and Wellbeing Forum takes place on Wednesday 8th March, 10am – 12pm, via Zoom. David Miller from Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) will be attending to tell forum members about the opportunity to apply to the Carers Challenge Fund, and to provide an update on the refresh of the Falkirk Carers Strategy.
Money Rights Campaign and Resources for Families
Parent Club has launched a new campaign to help families who were already struggling, and are now feeling completely overwhelmed by additional pressures brought on by the current economic crisis. The campaign raises awareness of the support and practical resources for families available on the Parent Club website, including advice, information on available benefits and going back to work (or changing careers).
Helpline Support for Chronic Pain Patients
Pain Concern, a national chronic pain charity, has received funding from Scottish Government to support patients waiting to be seen by pain management services at NHS Forth Valley, via a new helpline and email service. No Smoking Day 2023
No Smoking Day 2023 takes place on Wednesday 8th March; this year’s theme is “Quit and Win”, with people encouraged to stop smoking in order to benefit their physical, mental and financial wellbeing. Anyone looking for support to stop smoking can be referred to Quit Your Way Forth Valley. A stop smoking service is also available in local Community Pharmacies.

Macmillan Volunteering Services Delivery Lead Vacancy
Macmillan is currently recruiting a Volunteering Services Delivery Lead, covering Central and East Scotland.
