Falkirk Council and the Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC), along with other emergency responders, are holding a drop-in session on creating Community Emergency Hubs, where communities and local groups can work with emergency responders in a crisis.
The session takes place on Friday 17th March, 11am – 4pm, at the Camelon Education Centre, Abercrombie Street, Camelon, FK1 4HA, and is open to everyone from whole Falkirk Council area. Refreshments will be provided.
Community Emergency Hubs are designed in recognition of the fact that, during emergencies, communities regularly come together to help those in need – as most recently seen in Falkirk District during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Community Emergency Hubs are maintained by community groups and volunteers who are interested in the resilience of their communities, supported by emergency responders and the local authority.
The drop-in session aims to show how groups can link with emergency responders to help communities and improve any response to a situation. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak to respresentatives about the resources, information and training available.
