Tamfourhill Community Hub, with TCV Scotland, is looking for volunteers this weekend to help tidy up their community forest and growing area, making it safer and more accessible.
Volunteers are welcome to drop by this Saturday 11th March, any time between 10:30am – 3pm, at the Hub itself, Machrie Court (off Cumbrae Drive), Tamfourhill, FK1 4SD.
Supported by the Hub team and TCV Scotland on the day, tasks for volunteers will include:
- litter picking
- tackling the large woodpiles at the bottom of the hill next to the shelter, converting this into a natural deadhedge barrier
- extending the deadhedge near the fire area, to remove the surrounding piles of wood
- tackling the construction of the fire mound, using the pre-cut logs
- loading vans will with gathered timber and sticks, to be transported to other worksites needing wood
Work gloves will be provided, along with tea, coffee and biscuits.
