Age Scotland’s About Dementia project has launch the latest round of its Encouraging and Supporting Grassroots Activity (ESGA) Fund, which was designed for smaller, grassroots organisations looking to provide community-led support for people affected by dementia. Their 2025 fund will provide £310,000 in funding available to groups across Scotland. Applications close Friday 5 September 2025.

“Driving Change: A Tour to Reduce Gambling Harms” Training Event
To highlight the support available locally for people affected by gambling harm, the RCA Trust is holding a free event on Wednesday 3 September 2025, 10am – 2pm at Falkirk Trinity Church, Manse Place, Falkirk, FK1 1JN. “Driving Change: A Tour to Reduce Gambling Harm” will be held in partnership with FastForward and Cyrenians Chances Gambling Support.
Reclaim Room CIC Feedback Survey
The Reclaim Room is a new Community Interest Company (CIC) based in Falkirk, offering free makeup classes for women and LGBTQ+ individuals who are rebuilding their lives after hardship or abuse. Their team is currently gathering feedback through an online survey to understand the need for this service in the community.
Falkirk Gambling Policy Statement Online Survey
Falkirk Licensing Board is reviewing its Gambling Policy Statement, which guides how gambling premises (such as betting shops, bingo halls and gaming machines) are licensed locally in Falkirk District, with an online survey. This policy review is part of a legal duty under the Gambling Act 2005, which requires councils to update their policy every 3 years. The consultation closes on 29 September 2025.
Draft Climate Change Plan Call for Views
Scottish Parliament’s Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee has launched a Call for Views ahead of the upcoming draft Climate Change Plan (CCP). The CCP is a key strategy setting out how Scotland will meet its legally binding target to reach net zero emissions by 2045. The call for views closes on Friday 19 September 2025.
State of Caring 2025 Survey
Carers UK is calling on unpaid carers to share their experiences in this year’s State of Caring survey before the upcoming deadline on Sunday 10 August 2025. This year’s survey takes around 30 minutes and is open to unpaid carers (or former carers) supporting someone who is older, disabled or seriously ill. All responses are confidential.
Improving Health Developing Effective Practice Training for the Third Sector
Improving Health Developing Effective Practice (IHDEP) is an intensive training course delivered collaboratively by Health Improvement and Public Health staff from Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), Clackmannanshire and Stirling HSCP, and NHS Forth Valley. Designed for third sector staff, the programme aims to build confidence and clarity in planning, delivering and evaluating health improvement activities.
“Tackling Sectarianism CPD for Youth Workers” Training
YouthLink Scotland is providing a free, online training session for youth workers on tackling sectarianism, taking place on Tuesday 2 September 2025, 10am – 12pm, Thursday 4 December 2025, 1pm – 3pm, and Tuesday 3 February 2026, 1pm – 3pm.
Woodland Trust Free Tree Packs Available
The Woodland Trust aims to make sure everybody in the UK has the chance to plant a tree; as a result, it is giving away hundreds of thousands of trees to schools and communities, including third sector and community groups. Applications for November 2025 delivery are now open; the deadline for applications is is Thursday 28 August 2025.

Under the Trees is now offering “Forest Kindergarten and Wild Passport Training” in Falkirk District, with sessions beginning on Monday 1 September 2025, 10am – 2:30pm, for 5 weeks. Thanks to support from EDF Renewables Burnhead Moss Education & Training (BMET) Fund, there are 5 fully funded places available, open to people living or working in the following areas only: Avonbridge, Drumbowie, Limerigg, Standburn, and Slamannan.
