Funded by the Falkirk Bairns Wellbeing Fund, Falkirk Delivers’ next FREE Fun in Falkirk session takes place on Saturday 1st October, 10am – 4pm, opposite the Falkirk Steeple, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NW. Racks 4 Reptiles will be hosting an Animal Encounters experience, providing young attendees the opportunity to meet some of their exotic animals.

Falkirk HSCP Recruitment Roadshow Drop-in Events
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is holding drop-in recruitment roadshow events for anyone considering a career in care, on:, Wednesday 21st September at Grangemouth Town Hall, FK3 8AN, Thursday 22nd September at Bo’ness Town Hall, EH51 9NJ, and Friday 23rd September at Greenpark Community Education Centre, Polmont, FK2 0PZ. All drop-in events take place 10am – 4pm. Falkirk HSCP is looking for a number of people to join their services and help support people in their communities.
Falkirk Community Schools 2008 Fund Now Open
The Falkirk Community Schools 2008 Fund, managed by Foundation Scotland, is now open for applications. The Fund was set up by the Falkirk Community Schools Charity to support the advancement of education and the provision of recreation facilities across the Falkirk Council area, through projects meeting one or both of these aims. Large grants of £25,000 – £50,000 are available, to be spent over 12 months – 3 years. The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 17th October.
Falkirk HSCP Strategic Plan Online Survey
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is preparing to refresh its 3 year Strategic Plan, with an online survey which asks local people to assess the current challenges and future priorities which they believe should be included in the new plan. The deadline for responses is Friday 14th October.

We are continuing our downsizing at the CVS Falkirk office, and we have a range of office equipment available, including a lovely large reception desk and a fully functioning safe. We are selling both of these items for £100 each. Measurements are available on request.
Realistic Medicine Falkirk Event
Care Opinion Scotland, NHS Forth Valley, and the Scottish Ambulance Service are hosting a Realistic Medicine event, “It’s Okay to Ask About Your Care and Treatment”, on Monday 26th September, 10am – 1pm at Falkirk Library, Hope Street, Falkirk, FK1 5AU. Realistic Medicine is a national initiative aiming to ensure people using healthcare services are encouraged to discuss their treatment with professionals and ask questions, and that patients are fully informed about their care.
Homecare Day 2022
Homecare Day 2022 takes place on Thursday 22nd September, and the Partners for Integration team, along with Scottish Care, will be marking the day by lighting up buildings across Scotland in yellow to give thanks to the homecare workforce – including the Falkirk Wheel. The event, which mainly takes place online, looks to celebrate, acknowledge and recognise the homecare services across the UK. This year’s theme is “Homecare Voices”.
GIRFEC: Solution Orientated Children’s Plan Meetings
Falkirk’s Child Protection Committee is hosting 3 free online sessions on “GIRFEC: Solution Orientated Child’s Plan meetings”, taking place throughout September via Teams on: Wednesday 21st September, 3pm – 5pm, Thursday 22nd September, 1:30pm – 3:30pm, and Monday 26th September, 8:45am – 10:45am. Please note that participants only have to attend one of the sessions. The interactive sessions are open to all practitioners working with children and families, following on from the sessions run in May 2022
“Local History Stories and Events” Zoom Sessions
Strathcarron Hospice’s next “Local History Stories and Events” Zoom sessions take place on: Tuesday 20th September, Tuesday 18th October, and Tuesday 15th November. The sessions all begin at 2pm via Zoom, lasting roughly an hour, and are led by volunteer Ken, who is delighted to share his passion of local Scottish history with everyone and answer questions about well-known historical moments, but also lesser known facts.
CVS Falkirk Office Closed: Monday 19th September Bank Holiday
The CVS Falkirk office will be closed on Monday 19th September, allowing our team to observe a national day of mourning. This follows an announcement by King Charles III, who declared a public holiday for the State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We will return to work on Tuesday 20th September.
