NHS Forth Valley has announced that the Step on Stress course is returning to in-person community delivery. The free sessions help people understand how to manage their stress better, along with other issues. The first in-person sessions take place 6:30pm – 7:45pm at Forth Valley College (Raploch Campus), Drip Road, Stirling, FK8 1SE, on Tuesday 13th September, Tuesday 20th September, and Tuesday 27th September.

Statement on the Passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Our team at CVS Falkirk are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. During this time, we will be reflecting on the Queen’s commitment and dedication to such a wide and diverse range of charitable causes over her 70 year reign. On behalf of our staff, our volunteers and our board, we would like to extend our condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Just Enterprise Business Skills Workshops
Just Enterprise is developing on their Autumn/Winter 2022/23 training schedule, with Business Skills Workshops due to begin in October, and have created an online survey for people to register interest in upcoming workshops topics. The final workshops of the summer schedule take place on Tuesday 6th September, 10am – 12pm: “Writing for the Web”, and Friday 30th September, 11am – 12:30pm: “Charitable Trading”.

Falkirk Meal Maker Volunteers
Food Train Connects in Falkirk is seeking a number of Meal Maker Volunteers for their Meal Maker project, which aims to tackle malnutrition and loneliness. This opportunity is suitable for volunteers aged 16 years old and over.
HIS Community Engagement Webinar: Citizens’ Panel Survey Findings
The next Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) – Community Engagement webinar takes place on Wednesday 14th September, 2pm – 3pm, via Teams. The webinar will focus on key findings from the National Health and Social Care Citizens’ Panel’s 9th survey, with insight on how the Citizens’ Panel works.
Covid Aid Online Resources
Covid Aid is a national charity supporting anyone significantly affected by the pandemic (eg. people with Long COVID, or anyone who has suffered a bereavement due to COVID-19). As part of their work, they have designed an online support community, which is open to everyone. The Covid Aid website hub also has a range of information on COVID-19-related topics, which is updated regularly.
Falkirk CAB 2022 AGM
Falkirk Citizens Advice Bureau’s (CAB) AGM will take place on Thursday 6th October from 2:30pm, at the St Francis Xavier’s Church Hall, Hope Street, Falkirk, FK1 5AT. Falkirk CAB is also encouraging local people to become members of Falkirk CAB; membership is free, and open to anyone who lives, works, or has an interest in the Falkirk community.
Town Break 30th Birthday Extravaganza Events
To celebrate their 30th Anniversary Year, Town Break is holding a Birthday Extravaganza on Saturday 17th September: FREE Community Fun Day, 1pm – 5pm at the Crawford Hall, 70 Colquhoun Street, Braehead, Stirling, FK7 7PX, and Town Break Shake, 7pm – 12am at McQ’s, 45 Main Street, Bannockburn, Stirling, FK7 8LX (£10 per person). They will also be holding an Ice Ball with Gina McKie, on Saturday 26th November at the Stirling Highland Hotel.
CRP Windrush Information Session
The Citizens Rights Project (CRP) has been funded by the UK Government to provide information and awareness about the Windrush compensation and documentation schemes in Scotland. They are holding an online information session next Thursday 8th September, 4pm – 5pm, via Zoom.
