Keep Scotland Beautiful is holding free online Climate Emergency Workshops throughout September, for people living or working across Falkirk and District. There are a range of dates available, beginning next Thursday 8th September, 2pm – 3:30pm. The 90 minute online workshops aim to help local people learn about climate change impacts across Falkirk and District.

Apex Vets Open Day and Free Family Fun Day
The Apex Vets Open Day and Free Family Fun Day returns for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, with the 2022 event taking place on Saturday 3rd September, 12pm – 4pm at the Apex Veterinary Centre, Winchester Avenue, Denny, FK6 6QE. All proceeds from the day will be donated to Apex Vets’ chosen charities, Street Vet and Pet Fostering Service Scotland.
Fun in Falkirk Drop-In Session
Funded by the Falkirk Bairns Wellbeing Fund, Falkirk Delivers’ next FREE Fun in Falkirk session takes place this Saturday 3rd September, 11am – 3pm at the Battle of Falkirk unit (next to Falkirk Steeple), 102 – 104, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NW. Creation Station and The Muiravonside Ranger will be hosting environmentally friendly themed activities during the event.
FREE Office Equipment for Falkirk’s Third Sector
We’re downsizing here at the CVS Falkirk office, and we have a range of office equipment available for FREE to the local third sector. Items include desk chairs, meeting room chairs, filing cabinets, a range of stationery, even mugs and glasses! Photos are available on request; items must be collected.
Care Home Volunteers Survey
The Care Inspectorate’s Safe Staffing Programme (SSP) has been commissioned by Scottish Government for work around the Health and Care (Staffing) (Scotland) Act 2019. As part of this work, they want to hear from people with experience volunteering or helping out in care homes for adults and older people. The deadline for responses is Friday 16th September.
Health Inequalities and Wellbeing Fund: Successful Applicants
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership has confirmed the successful applicants to its Health Inequalities and Wellbeing Fund. After 2 rounds of applications, 15 projects targeting health and social inequalities have secured a total of £556,633.
CLD Device Fund Open for Applications
The Community Learning and Development (CLD) Device Fund 2022 is now open for applications. The fund is open to community-based, voluntary CLD organisations and groups, and provides capital funding to purchase digital devices which can be used by learners to support their learning. The deadline for applications is 12pm on Friday 16th September.
Falkirk Carers’ Voice Meeting
The next Falkirk Carers’ Voice (formerly the Carers Forum) meeting will be held on Tuesday 6th September, 10am – 12pm, at the Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre, 1A Bank Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NB. All carers are welcome to join the meeting.
Child Flu Vaccine Programme Launching Soon
The Child Flu Vaccine Programme (Primary and Secondary) will be launching soon, with consent packs due to be distributed to school children from this week. Parents and carers of schoolchildren are encouraged to complete and return their consent forms on time. A campaign toolkit is also available.
