The Citizens Rights Project (CRP) has been funded by the UK Government to provide information and awareness about the Windrush compensation and documentation schemes in Scotland.
They are holding an online information session next Thursday 8th September, 4pm – 5pm, via Zoom.
People of any nationality settled in the UK, who arrived legally in the country before 1989, and have suffered losses because they could not demonstrate their lawful status in the UK, may be entitled to compensation under the Windrush Compensation Scheme. If they do not have a document proving their rights, they will also be able to receive one through the Windrush Scheme.
CRP’s Windrush funding ends in September, and they are keen for as many people as possible to attend this session (whether they are representatives of different communities, or professionals providing support to communities), in order to continue raising awareness, and to know where to refer people for support and further information after September.
