CVS Falkirk is hosting a series of online events during Talk Money Week (taking place Monday 7th November – Friday 11th November) with the aim of providing information to third sector staff and active volunteers relating to the Cost of Living Crisis. Workshops will be hosted online via Zoom and will each last around 45 minutes.

Notice of CVS Falkirk 2022 AGM
The CVS Falkirk 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place in-person on Thursday 24th November 2022, at St Francis Xavier’s Church Hall (across from Morrison’s Petrol Station), 1 Hope Street, Falkirk, FK1 5AT. The hall will be open for registration, food and refreshments from 1:15pm, with the AGM beginning at 2pm.
Falkirk IJB Third Sector Representative 2022: Voting Open
Voting is now open for the role of the third sector representative on the Falkirk Integration Joint Board (IJB). The representative will be selected following a count of the votes cast by third sector groups and organisations in the Falkirk area; the nominee with the highest number of votes will be appointed as the third sector representative on the IJB for 2 years. Voting will close at 12pm on Thursday 3rd November.
Now Open for Applications: Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund
We are delighted to again be managing the distribution of the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund’s investment, with the Fund opening for applications on Monday 3rd October. Charities, social enterprises, community and voluntary groups, parent councils, and other third sector organisations operating in the Falkirk Council area can apply for 3 grant types: Small Grants: up to £2,000 for unconstituted groups; up to £5,000 for constituted groups; Medium Grants: up to £10,000; Large Grants: up to £25,000. The Fund will close, and all applications must be submitted by, 12pm on Tuesday 15th November 2022.
Pause & Breathe CIC Board Volunteers
Pause & Breathe CIC is currently looking for new volunteer Board Members. Understanding good governance for Community Interest Companies (CICs), knowledge of the third sector and/or the health and wellbeing sector, and previous experience on a Board would be advantageous. The Board meet quarterly, though this may increase during times of change. The deadline for applications is Saturday 1st October.
Girls Empowerment Club Facilitator & Mentor Volunteers
St. James Research Centre is seeking Girls Empowerment Club Facilitator & Mentor volunteers. They are looking for volunteers who are keen to be creative regarding how the group is run. Facilitators will have a key role in helping to establish a Girls Empowerment Club. Responsibilities will include hosting regular club meetings, planning activities, and mentoring the girls who attend. A PVG check is required.
Local Development Plan 3 Survey
Work is starting on the third Falkirk Local Development Plan (LDP3), which sets out how the Falkirk District area will develop in the future, including, where new housing, business, and infrastructure will be located. Falkirk Council has created an online survey to gather people’s views on how they would like to be involved in the process. The deadline for responses is Friday 11th November.
Bairns’ Hoose Standards Consultation Event
Children in Scotland’s VOICES membership and Supporting the Third Sector Project (STTS) will be hosting a consultation event on the Bairns’ Hoose Standards, on Wednesday 12th October, 2pm – 4pm via Zoom. During the event, they are keen to hear from attendees on the 11 draft standards, in order to form their response.
The Big Plan: Planning for the Future
Neighbourhood Networks and Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) have launched The Big Plan, a collaborative planning process offering a unique opportunity to engage a group of individuals (often young people in transition), families and community volunteers. The Big Plan is open to any young person, aged 16 – 23 years old, who wants to engage in planning for their future.

dates-n-mates Falkirk is holding their next Club Night on Friday 7th October, 7pm – 11pm at Temple Nightclub, 1 Burnbank Road, Bainsford, FK2 7PE. Guest DJ Zandernation returns for the event, which will also feature glow sticks, music, and a quiet room for those who need some space. Tickets are on the door only, and £8 for members, £10 for non-members.
