Make Your Mark’s new Inclusive Volunteering Surgeries are informal sessions designed especially for history, culture and nature groups and organisations to explore making their volunteer programme more inclusive, with the next taking place next Wednesday 20 May 2026. Hosted by Erin Burke, Make Your Mark Campaign Coordinator, these informal sessions are tailored to attendees and their organisations.

CGL Volunteer Opportunities Closing Soon
Change Grow Live (CGL) is currently looking to recruit new volunteers within Falkirk District for the following roles: Women’s Engagement Support Volunteer (please note, this role is exclusively available to women due to the nature of the role, under section 11 of the Equality Act 2010) and Administration Support. Due to scheduled training, the deadline for applications to these roles is Friday 22 May 2026.

International Guide Dog Day: Get Involved Locally
Earlier this week, we celebrated International Guide Dog Day 2026 (Wednesday 29 April)! Guide dogs give people with sight loss the confidence to get out safely and live the life they choose. Guide Dogs Scotland is one of the UK’s leading sight loss charities, and are active locally. Within the Falkirk District, you can get involved and support their work by volunteering.

Connecting Volunteering Network: May 2026 Meeting

Upcoming Young Trustees Movement Online Training
Recognising that less than 3% of charity trustees are under 30 years old, the Young Trustees Movement is calling for increased board diversity. As part of this campaign, they are hosting online training, 12pm – 1pm, across multiple dates (via Zoom), focusing on championing diversity within boards: Wednesday 15 April 2026, Wednesday 13 May 2026, and Wednesday 10 June 2026. Tickets are free, although advance booking is required to gain access to the Zoom sessions.
