Volunteer Scotland has published its latest learning resource, the Duty to Refer Process Learning Byte video.
If a group or organisation has volunteers or staff in a regulated role, there is an important legal responsibility which must be taken seriously. They must report harmful behaviour to Disclosure Scotland; this is known as the Duty to Refer.
“Understanding when and how to act is essential, not just for compliance, but for safeguarding others.”
Volunteer Scotland’s resource covers:
- the background behind Duty to Refer
- what a group or organisation’s responsibilities are
- the actions they need to take
- practical tips to help them manage this duty confidently
