Social Enterprise Summit Scotland 2025
Tickets for the second Social Enterprise Summit Scotland are now available, taking place in-person on Tuesday 2 September 2025, 9:30am – 4pm at The Barracks Conference Centre, Forthside Way, Stirling, FK8 1QZ. Hosted by Social Enterprise Scotland (SES), this year’s event theme is “Fair Economy, Shared Future”. Tickets are £45 – £100 (plus VAT), and are limited to 2 per organisation.
intandem Volunteer Mentor Online Drop-in Session
intandem is a mentoring programme for children and young people experiencing the care system, or at risk of care. They are running an informal, online drop-in session for people who might be interested in becoming a volunteer mentor to a young person, taking place on Wednesday 25 June 2025, 6pm – 7pm via Zoom.
PVG Guidance after Disclosure Act Changes
Now that the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 has been implemented, Volunteer Scotland and Disclosure Scotland have highlighted some of the guidance available to help groups and organisations understand the changes to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, and remind them of the additional support resources available
Paristamen Charity Responsive Grants Programme
The Paristamen Charity is a small grant-making charity; the Responsive Grant programme is their main programme, with a relatively broad application criteria. They make small unrestricted grants designed to make a difference to groups’ operational work. Grants of £500 – £1,000 are available to support the work of charitable organisations in Scotland. The next closing date for applications is Wednesday 1 October 2025.
Action Earth Grants 2025 Now Available
Volunteering Matters Action Earth has grants of £250 to help communities to respond to the nature and climate crises. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and NatureScot, Action Earth grants are designed to support volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to run practical environmental activities which improve biodiversity in Scotland’s green spaces in built-up areas and centres of population.
Bo’ness Town Centre Consultation
Falkirk Council is running a consultation to prepare a new Town Centre Vision and Masterplan for Bo’ness, including an online survey. It is intended that this work will shape the future of the Town Centre, and help direct future funding and investment to deliver an improved quality of life. The deadline for responses is on Monday 7 July 2025.
Integration in Action Event: Lead Courageously
The ALLIANCE Health and Social Care Academy and Integration Team has announced the next event in their Integration in Action series with the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) Scotland. Taking place on Thursday 26 June 2025 at The Studio, 67 Hope Street, Glasgow, G2 6AE, 9am – 1pm, the event will continue from previous events in the series, in looking at the factors which contribute to successful integration.
Big Ideas Youth Work Residential Weekend: Bookings Open
Bookings are open for Big Ideas, “the biggest weekend in youth work!” Taking place Saturday 30 August – Sunday 31 August 2025 at the University of Stirling campus, Big Ideas is a residential event for young people, volunteers and youth workers, aimed at engaging, inspiring and empowering attendees to take the lead in their communities.
PlayPLUS and PLUSYouth Inclusive Activities Launched
PLUS Forth Valley has launched Falkirk PlayPLUS and PLUSYouth, offering tailored and inclusive weekend and school holiday activities for children aged 5 – 17 years old with disabilities and additional support needs (ASN) in Falkirk District. This includes the new Play & Chat support group for parents and carers, which takes place every third Thursday of the month, 9:30am – 11am, at Bailliefields Community Hub.
