The Another Way Women’s Foundation (AWWF), a UK-based volunteer-led charity, has announced the launch of its latest funding round aimed at empowering women and girls through community-led initiatives. Open to UK-based individuals and not-for-profit organisations, this round focuses on projects supporting women and girls in business and STEM, with 2 funding options available this round. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday 30 September 2025.

Health and Social Care West Locality Plan Consultation
Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is inviting residents in Denny, Bonnybridge, Larbert and Stenhousemuir (known collectively as Falkirk West) to take part in a consultation helping shape the new West Locality Plan. The consultation includes an online survey, drop-in sessions, community group discussions and staff meetings to gather feedback and views on the key health and social care challenges in Falkirk West and the priorities for action. The deadline for responses is Wednesday 15 October 2025.
Consultation on Extending Hate Crime Law
Scottish Government has opened a consultation on proposals to expand hate crime law to include new protections based on sex. The plans would update the Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021 to cover prejudice-motivated behaviour against women and girls, as well as men and boys. This would bring sex into line with existing protected characteristics. The deadline for responses is Friday 10 October 2025.
Falkirk Festival of Trees 2025
This year, Falkirk town centre will see its first Festival of Trees, taking place Saturday 6 December, Sunday 7 December, Saturday 13 December, and Sunday 14 December 2025 in the former Wilko unit. The Festival of Trees is free for the public to attend, with opportunities to make a donation. Organisers are currently looking for volunteers, and entertainers to perform during the event.

Forth Valley 16 Days of Action Eventbrite Page
The Eventbrite page for Forth Valley’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is now live. The page will feature events taking place in the build-up to this year’s campaign, and during the campaign itself (running 25 November – 10 December every year).
Cyrenians Falkirk New Pet Pantry
Cyrenians in Falkirk has launched a pet pantry to help support local pet owners and their pets. Set up in memory of Ali Walls (1970 – 2025), the Pet Pantry is currently open Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays, 9:30am – 3:30pm, located in the Walled Garden Bothy of Dollar Park, Camelon Road, Falkirk, FK1 5SQ.
Blossoms Groups in Denny and Stenhousemuir
Blossoms is a peer-led support group offering women a safe and confidential, free space to share life’s challenges, with the opportunity to find support and connect with other women who understand. The new Stenhousemuir group takes place every Wednesday, 6:30pm – 8:30pm, at Ochilview Park stadium; the Denny group meets every Friday, 12:30pm – 2:30pm, at Westpark Church.
