“Doon the Loan” Bainsford Event
Traditional Arts and Culture (TRAC) Scotland is holding an event on Saturday 22nd April, to celebrate the first year of creative work on the People’s Parish project. Taking place 12pm – 3pm at Bainsford Community Hall, Davids Loan, Bainsford, FK2 7NS, “Doon the Loan” will feature a small photographic exhibition, plus oral histories, presentations, and historical maps.
Eid Bazaar Fundraising Event
The Rainbow Muslim Women Group is holding an Eid Bazaar on Wednesday 19th April, 10am – 4pm at the Howgate Shopping Centre, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1HG. The event will feature food, clothing and jewellery stalls, plus sweets, and henna and mehndi painting. Fifty per cent of all proceeds raised during the event will go towards those affected by the conflict in Gaza.
Butterfly Day Centre: Open Evening
The Butterfly Day Centre SCIO, a local social enterprise, is holding an open evening on Friday 14th April, 6pm – 9pm at their new premises in the Enable Falkirk building, Elgin Park, Elgin Place, Falkirk, FK1 1QN. The event will focus on the support the Day Centre can offer young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), who are transitioning from schools in Forth Valley, or who are 18 – 26 years old.

Productivity Clubs Scotland is a partnership between the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI) and Scottish Government, which gives businesses and organisations support to improve their own productivity and performance, and opportunities to share their experiences and learning with others working towards these goals.
Forth Valley Awarded “Social Enterprise Place” Status!
Forth Valley and South Ayrshire have been recognised as “hotspots of social enterprise activity” in the latest round of the Social Enterprise Places programme run by Social Enterprise Scotland, where social enterprise can thrive. Callendar House Gallery Assistant Volunteers
Falkirk Leisure and Culture is looking for Gallery Assistant volunteers. Gallery Assistant volunteers support the temporary exhibitions at Callendar House – this opportunity is focused on “East and West – Scottish paintings by Barbara Rae”, which runs from Wednesday 20th May. Volunteers will meet and greet visitors to this exhibition and provide informal tours, or information about the artist and her work,
SCVO Trustees Roles and Responsibilities Online Training
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) has launched a series of free lunchtime webinars on “Trustees Roles & Responsibilities Training”, open to SCVO member organisations and members of the SCVO Trustee Network. There are 2 sessions available, delivered by 2 separate charity law specialist firms: Tuesday 25th April, 1pm – 2pm, with Anderson Strathern; Tuesday 20th June, 1pm – 2pm, with Turcan Connell.
The Fore Summer 2023 Grants Programme
The Fore’s grants programme is opening for applications for one week, at 12m on Tuesday 11th April. The programme is offering unrestricted grants of up to £30,000 in Summer 2023 to help small charities and social enterprises develop, grow or become more sustainable. Registration will close at 12pm on Tuesday 17th April.
