Volunteers’ Week Photo Display: Send Us Your Photos!
We have lots of exciting things going on during Volunteers’ Week – in addition to this year’s awards and Picnic in the Park!, we’re working on a special Volunteers’ Week photo display to celebrate our local volunteers, and your group can get involved.
Community Ownership Fund Round 3
The Community Ownership Fund will open for Round 3 main applications on Wednesday 31st May 2023; Expressions of Interest can be submitted now. There are some eligibility changes, which include reducing the match funding requirement, increasing the amount of funding all projects can bid for, and allowing parish councils to apply. Round 3 will close to new applications at 11:59am on Wednesday 12th July.
2023 Summer School Holiday Food and Activities Fund
The 2023 Summer School Holiday Food and Activities Fund is now open for applications, with funding of up to £5,000 available for projects. Due to changes to this year’s fund, Fairer Falkirk have organised 2 online drop-in sessions to answer questions from local groups and organisations, taking place on Tuesday 23rd May from 12pm and Thursday 25th May from 5:30pm. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 31st May.
Free Community Wellbeing Sessions
Pause and Breathe CIC is holding their new Free Community Wellbeing Sessions. All sessions take place each week on Friday mornings, 10am – 11:30am. Sometimes sessions will focus on movement, and other times on rest, with meditation and different facilitators sharing ways participants can bring more wellbeing into their lives.
ZEM Innovators Meetup at Falkirk Sewing Studio
The next Zero Emissions Mobility (ZEM) Innovators Meetup will take place next Thursday 25th May, 5pm – 8pm, hosted by one of our local social enterprises, Falkirk Sewing Studio, in Callendar Square Shopping Centre, High Street, Falkirk, FK1 1UJ.
Driving Force Fundraising Coffee Morning TOMORROW
Driving Force is holding their annual fundraising coffee morning TOMORROW, Saturday 20th May, 10am – 12:30pm at St Helen’s Church Hall, Dunure Street, Bonnybridge, FK4 1BY. The event is £2 entry for adults (£1 for children), and will include home baking and other refreshments.
Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund: Round 2 Successful Awards
CVS Falkirk & District is delighted to confirm that 42 local groups and organisations received funding from the second round of the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund!
Upcoming “Fine Tune Your Social Enterprise” Event
Firsport and Just Enterprise’s next “Fine Tune Your Social Enterprise” event takes place on Wednesday 31st May, 9:30am – 4pm at the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton Hotel, 19 North Bridge, Edinburgh, EH1 1SD: “Becoming a Role Model for Businesses: How to Embed Responsible and Inclusive Business Practices in Your Social Enterprise”.
Scottish Household Survey Analysis
Last month, Scottish Government published its Scottish Household Survey (SHS) 2021 report; Volunteer Scotland has analysed the volunteering data, which highlighted some interesting findings, including the importance of volunteers supporting their community or neighbourhood, with nearly one third of Scotland’s volunteers involved.
