Forth Valley’s programme of events for 2023’s 16 Days of Action is now live. 16 Days of Action (or Activism) is an annual international campaign, beginning on 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, running until 10th December, Human Rights Day.

CVS Falkirk AGM: Less Than ONE WEEK to Go!
There is now less than ONE WEEK until the CVS Falkirk 2023 AGM, taking place in-person on Tuesday 28th November at Bonnybridge Community Centre. We are delighted to confirm that our AGM guest speaker will be Steve Kent, Policy Manager at The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)! Our team will also highlight the funding support we offer, and how we can help with the new charity regulations.
Social Enterprise Day 2023 with CVS Falkirk: Recap
Yesterday, Thursday 16th November, was Social Enterprise Day 2023, a day to celebrate and acknowledge the work, efforts and contributions of social enterprises here in Falkirk District, Forth Valley, Scotland, and the world.
Al Masaar Board Member Volunteers
Al Masaar is looking for Board Members to support the work of their team across Forth Valley, particularly the roles of Chair and Treasurer.
Community Council Fund
In addition to its Third Sector, Community and Practice Fund, The National Centre for Resilience (NCR) (currently hosted by the University of Glasgow) has launched its new Community Council Fund with grants of up to £500 available. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 31st January 2024.
Mental Health Debt Recovery Moratorium Consultation
The Bankruptcy and Diligence (Scotland) Bill contains powers which would allow Scottish Ministers to create a Mental Health Moratorium. This would protect people with serious mental health issues from debt recovery action. To inform this, Scottish Government is seeking views on the proposed process for a Mental Health Moratorium. The deadline for responses is Monday 22nd January 2024.
NHS 24 Annual Review 2023
Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for NHS Recovery, Health and Social Care, will chair NHS 24’s Annual Review on Wednesday 29th November, 10:45am – 11:45am, taking place online via Teams and in-person at Dovecot Studios, 10 Infirmary Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1LT.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Action Plan and Strategy Delivery Plan
Earlier in November, the new Mental Health and Wellbeing Workforce Action Plan, and the Strategy Delivery Plan were announced in Scottish Parliament. Both Plans are published jointly with COSLA. The scope and direction of actions was developed with the help of over 20 organisations, including input from CVS Falkirk & District.
St Andrew’s First Aid Talks for Community and Third Sector Groups
St Andrew’s First Aid believes no one should suffer or die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it, and are keen to meet with community and third sector groups and organisations in the Falkirk District, along with schools.
