Falkirk’s Community Planning Partnership (CPP) and Falkirk Council have organised in-person “Safe & Together” training dates for 2024. The 2024 dates will use the Domestic Abuse Informed Model, applying the key components and principles of the “Safe & Together” model, with both the one day introductory overview, and the full 4 day course available.

Shared Care Scotland Short Breaks Directory Launched
Shared Care Scotland has launched their new Short Breaks Directory as an online resource designed to support people and families in Scotland – and the groups and organisations who work to support them – who require respite and short break services.
Health and Wellbeing Forum: December Meeting
The next Health and Wellbeing Forum takes place on Wednesday 13th December, 10am – 12pm, via Zoom. Attendees will hear from NHS Forth Valley on “The Importance of Physical Activity” and the new Bereavement Support Service recently launched, along with updates on the Enjoy Life Locally (ELLY) Project. There will also be updates from our team on this year’s Wellness in Winter campaign.
ASH Scotland 2024 Training Dates Released
New 2024 dates have been release for ASH Scotland’s “Young People, Vaping, Smoking and Mental Health” training. The training is aimed at groups and organisations supporting or working directly with young people in Scotland. The training is completely free, lasting 2 hours and delivered via Zoom or Teams. ASH Scotland is also able to deliver separate training sessions to teams of 6 – 15 people
Slamannan Lights Up Christmas Event
Slamannan Community Hub has organised “Slamannan Lights Up Christmas”, a festive event taking place on Sunday 17th December from 4pm at the Christmas Tree set up on the corner of Main Street and New Street. There will be hot chocolate and mincemeat pies, carol singing, a torchlight procession, amongst others, plus a visit from Santa and his reindeer.
Scottish First Aid Awards 2024: Nominations Open
Nominations are now open for the 2024 Scottish First Aid Awards, which recognise people across Scotland for their first aid efforts (including those who saved a life, or championed first aid in the workplace or the education sector), and aim to raise awareness of the importance of first aid. The deadline for nominations is Friday 15th December.
Limerigg Festive Community Events
Limerigg Action Group (LAG) has organised a series of festive events for the village, including Christmas Tree Event, Friday 8th December, 6pm – 8pm, and Christmas Ceilidh, Friday 15th December, 7pm – 11pm.
World AIDS Day 2023: Central Sexual Health Update
To mark World AIDS Day 2023, NHS Forth Valley’s Central Sexual Health (CSH) service has shared an update on current developments in HIV treatment and care, and information on local and national activity focusing on support for people living with HIV.

FEL Scotland “Sow the Seeds of Change” Seed Grants
FEL Scotland has launched their new Sow the Seeds of Change grants, through their Climate Hub. Funded by Scottish Government, FEL is offering seed grants of £250 – £1,500 to community organisations. The deadline for applications is Saturday 10th February 2024; all funding must be used by Sunday 31st March 2024.
