St Andrew’s First Aid believes no one should suffer or die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it, and are keen to meet with community and third sector groups and organisations in the Falkirk District, along with schools.
Workshops, Demonstrations and Talks
They can hold informal workshops, demonstrations and talks with classes and groups, which can be tailored to each audience and cover just one topic in a lot of detail, or can be a broader overview on many different first aid situations.
This includes first aid demonstrations, where St Andrew’s First Aid volunteers can cover:
- demonstrating CPR
- talking about how to recognise symptoms of and deal with extremes of temperature
- paediatric (children’s) first aid
To arrange a workshop or demonstration, please complete the online booking form (linked for your convenience), or contact the Communities team by email: community@firstaid.org.uk
Ready for Life Programme
St Andrew’s First Aid has also recently been awarded funding to deliver 20 Ready for Life programmes within Falkirk District schools in 2024, and are looking to organise these.
The Ready for Life (RFL) programme is a 2 day course suitable for any young person aged 15 years old and over. Upon completion, participants receive 2 industry-recognised qualifications, which are valid for 3 years: the Emergency First Aid at Work (SCQF6) and First Aid for Mental Health Awareness (SCQF4) certificates. Both these qualifications can be included in a young person’s attainment record.
A maximum of 12 people can attend the course, who would need to attend both days.
