Jobcentre Plus and Falkirk Council are holding a free networking event on Thursday 7th December, for third sector groups and organisations to hear directly about the help and support available to local people and businesses within the Falkirk and Grangemouth areas.

Equally Safe Falkirk is holding an open day on Wednesday 29th November, 11:30am – 2pm at Watling Lodge, Tamfourhill Road, Tamfourhill, FK1 4RE, as part of their 16 Days of Action activities. The Equally Safe Falkirk Participation Group, made up of survivors who have been supported by ESF, has designed the open day event to share some key messages about the service.

Falkirk Council is now preparing a play sufficiency assessment as part of work on the Local Development Plan (LDP3). They want to hear people’s thoughts and views on the open spaces and play areas in their communities, through an online survey. The deadline for responses is Tuesday 28th November.

The Central Scotland Regional Equality Council (CSREC) is delivering Islamophobia awareness workshops, as part of their work for Islamophobia Awareness Month. The workshops cover multiple different topics to raise awareness of Islamophobia and reduce discrimination towards Muslim people in the workplace, help improve understanding of cultural differences, and dispel myths about Islam.

Money Advice Scotland’s next free Financial Wellbeing webinar, “The 12 Scams of Christmas”, takes place next Tuesday 21st November, 10am – 11am. The webinar focuses on common festive scams, covering the top 12 scams to be aware of during the festive season.

The Falkirk Town Centre Golden Ticket Competition is back for 2023. Organised by Falkirk Delivers, for every purchase of £10 or more at participating businesses in Falkirk Town Centre, people will receive a Golden Ticket until Friday 22nd December. The Golden Ticket draws take place every Friday at 1pm.

Let’s Be Heard is an opportunity for people to contribute to the Scottish COVID-19 Inquiry, and seeks to better understand and analyse individuals and communities’ experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns. Our team at CVS Falkirk & District is facilitating a drop-in session for the local third sector and partners to submit a collective response to the Inquiry, on Tuesday 5th December, in-person and online.
