Police Scotland is running 2 in-person Special Constable recruitment events on Saturday 10 May 2025, 10:30am – 1pm and 1:30pm – 4pm, at the Scottish Police College at Tulliallan Castle, Kincardine, FK10 4BE. The Special Constable is a volunteer role with the same powers as a Police Officer. These events are free to attend and aim to provide those interested in volunteering with Police Scotland with a better understanding of the Special Constable role.

CARES Community Buildings Fund Opening Soon
The CARES Community Buildings Fund will open soon, and is accepting expression of interests (EOIs) for this funding call. Local community groups and third sector organisations can submit an EOI via the CARES Project Portal.
Community Bloom Fund
Scottish Fuels, part of Certas Energy, has announced a £30,000 Community Bloom Fund available to community groups to revamp a shared space. Four applicants will be shortlisted. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 28 May 2025.
Autistic Adult Support Fund
The Autistic Adult Support Fund is available to third sector organisations providing services to autistic adults: promoting wellbeing and helping them to understand what neurodivergence means for them. The fund, delivered by Inspiring Scotland, will run October 2025 – March 2028 (30 months), with a total of £2.5 million available. Organisations can apply for grants of £40,000 – £200,000 per year. The deadline for applications is 12pm on Wednesday 21 May 2025.
Leathersellers’ Small Grants Programme Opening Soon
The Leathersellers’ Small Grants Programme 2024-25 will open for applications at 10am next Tuesday 6 May 2025. The Small Grants Programme offers one-off grants up to £5,000 to registered charities and Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). There is a maximum of 40 applications per round, and the online application form will automatically close once 40 submissions have been received. Due to high demand, the 40 application limit is often reached within an hour.
Age Scotland Online Survey on Women’s Health Experiences
Age Scotland is looking at what women aged 50 years old and over want to see in Scotland’s next Women’s Health Plan, which is being developed by Scottish Government. They have created a short online survey for people to submit their experiences, and are seeking input from those who have had experience of accessing health services.
Poverty Alliance Member Seminars: Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan
The Poverty Alliance is organising a series of member seminars to discuss Scotland’s next Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan, with 2 in-person sessions focused on key policy areas relevant to the next plan: whole family approaches, and the role of paid work: “Whole Family Approaches” on Wednesday 7 May, 10am – 2pm, in Glasgow, and “The Role of Paid Work” on Wednesday 21 May, 10am – 2pm, in Edinburgh.

Falkirk District Third Sector Meeting: Community Wealth Building Bill
Scottish Parliament’s Economy and Fair Work Committee is conducting Stage 1 scrutiny of the Community Wealth Building (Scotland) Bill and has requested views prior to the formal evidence session in June. To ensure that the views of Falkirk and District’s third sector are heard in relation to this Bill, an MS Teams meeting is scheduled on Tuesday 20 May 2025, 1pm – 3pm.
Kinneil Band Annual Concert
Kinneil Band is hosting their Annual Concert at Fisons Cairns Hall, 69 Linlithgow Road, Bo’ness, EH51 0DS, on Thursday 29 May 205, starting at 7:30pm. There will be music from both Kinneil Band and Kinneil Youth Band; admission is free, though donations are welcome.
