Forth Environment Link (FEL) is looking for volunteers interested in getting involved with Mystery Shopping. Volunteers will help them find out about the price and accessibility of a list of fruit and vegetables in Falkirk. Those interested should attend a short online introductory workshop – the next workshop takes place on Monday 20th June, 10am – 11:30am.

One Parent Families Scotland Guidance Focus Groups
As part their work to help #KeepThePromise in Scotland, One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS) is producing new supplementary guidance for people working with families with children in, or on the edges of, the care system in Scotland. They are holding 2 focus groups via Zoom to help create this guidance, taking place on Wednesday 6th July, 10am – 1pm, and Thursday 22nd September, 10am – 1pm.
Multi-Agency Self-Neglect and Hoarding Awareness Training
Falkirk Council’s Adult Support and Protection (ASP) team is holding Multi-Agency Self-Neglect and Hoarding Awareness Training throughout the year via Teams, with the next course taking place on Monday 18th July from 12:15pm. The course is designed to bring together a range of partners from different agencies to explore supportive interventions for adults who experience self-neglect and hoarding.
#SeaFoodMattersUK Event
Stirling University’s Institute of Aquaculture is hosting “#SeaFoodMattersUK”, a free in-person event taking place at the university on Thursday 23rd June – Friday 24th June. The event is designed to bring together institutional seafood buyers, and will include talks, panel discussions and practical demonstrations to bring together a wide spectrum of interested parties.
“I’m Still Here” Free Documentary Screening
To mark Refugee Week 2022, Napier University has organised free public screenings of “I’m Still Here” – a short documentary made with refugees and asylum seekers in Glasgow during the COVID-19 pandemic – including a Falkirk screening, taking place tomorrow, Saturday 18th June. The screening takes place from 4pm at St Francis Xavier Church, Hope Street, Falkirk, FK1 5AT.

Social Investment Scotland Online Business Support Programmes
Social Investment Scotland (SIS) offers a range of online business support programmes, which aim to equip social enterprises with the knowledge and skills to grow sustainably, scale and deliver societal and environmental impact. The programmes currently available include the Retail for Change: The Social Sessions (the next masterclass “Our High Street” taking place Thursday 30th June) and the SIS Associate Business Support Programme.
SEN and TSI Survey on National Social Enterprise Intermediary
Scottish Government recently announced their decision to fund a single National Social Enterprise Intermediary, and local Social Enterprise Networks (SENs) and Third Sector Interfaces (TSIs) throughout Scotland have launched a short online survey to gather views and input from social enterprises across the country, which should take 5 – 10 minutes to complete. The deadline for responses is Thursday 28th July.

Volunteering Matters is seeking Equip Mentor Volunteers. The role involves offering practical and emotional support to young people in Clackmannanshire, such as CV writing, interview skills, confidence building, resilience, independence, and working on a set of goals chosen by the young person.
Outdoor Education Assistant Volunteers
Under The Trees CIC (UTT) is looking for Outdoor Education Assistant Volunteers. This role is varied, and includes helping staff to deliver play, school, weekend events and birthday parties. The role has been designed as an opportunity to develop new outdoor learning and Play Ranger skills. There will be a time commitment of approximately 4 hours per week.
