Household Hardship Fund: Second Round Open for Applications
The second round of the Household Hardship Fund from Corra Foundation is now open for applications. Groups can apply for up to £5,000 to directly provide local families and individuals in need with cash or vouchers. Like the previous round, it is expected that applications will come in very quickly, and Corra Foundation strongly recommends that those interested apply as soon as possible.
GIRFE Place-Based Pathfinders Update Event
Voluntary Health Scotland (VHS) and the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum (CJVSF) have invited Scottish Government colleagues to attend an online event and give a short update about the Getting It Right For Everyone (GIRFE) place-based pathfinders, which will go live this spring. The event will take place on Tuesday 24th January, 9:30am – 10:30am.

“Introduction to Renewables” Online Info Session
NHS Forth Valley and Home Energy Scotland (HES) are holding another energy information session, on Tuesday 7th February, 10am – 11am, via Teams: “Introduction to Renewables”. The session will include information about domestic renewable technologies, and the main types available in Scotland, plus information on routes to funding.
“Social Value” Online Event
Social Value UK is holding an online session for charities and social enterprises to come together and discuss the challenges and opportunities they have experienced in their social value efforts. “Social Value – Lever for Change or Lost Opportunity?” takes place on Monday 23rd January, 1pm – 3:30pm. Tickets are £15 each.
MAS Financial Wellbeing Train the Trainer Course
Money Advice Scotland (MAS) has relaunched their free Train the Trainer: An Introduction to Financial Wellbeing course, with places available in January and February. The new and improved course explores the meaning of financial wellbeing, considering the foundational elements of financial resilience and the challenges to financial wellbeing.
Winter Funding Announced for Food Groups
Scottish Government has announced an additional £2.4 million in funding to help people struggling to afford food and other essentials. The funds will go to 4 organisations to distribute on a mainly “cash-first” basis to people in immediate need, in the face of the cost of living crisis.
