NHS Forth Valley have released new dates in their training calendar for 3 courses supporting mental health improvement, and the prevention of self harm and suicide: Ask Tell Respond, Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA), and 2 newly commissioned Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) programmes.

Dawson Sports Football & Pizza Nights
Dawson Sports’ next Football & Pizza night is next Friday 27th October from 6:45pm, taking place every fortnight at the Dawson Centre Astroturf, David’s Loan (just off Bainsford Cross), Falkirk, FK2 7RG. Each session features organised football for roughly an hour, followed by free pizza. The sessions are aimed at children and young people aged 10 – 16 years old, but are open to everyone.
No Knives, Better Lives Programme Training Date
YouthLink Scotland is running a new pilot project in Falkirk District, aiming to create a new restorative community, which will be the first of its kind in Scotland. The next training date on NKBL, next Friday 27th October, 9am – 3:30pm, for practitioners working with young people in communities.
Forth Valley Sensory Centre Youth and Family Support Worker Vacancy
Forth Valley Sensory Centre is recruiting a Temporary Youth and Family Support Worker. The position is 7 hours per week (22 weeks per annum), with a wage of £15.00 per hour, and a fixed term contract, October 2023 – March 2024. The successful candidate will provide activities, peer and family support for sensory impaired young people across the Falkirk area.

Make Your Mark is a campaign aiming to increase the number and diversity of heritage volunteers in Scotland. They have a wide definition of heritage organisations and projects, and support all volunteer roles and programmes that preserve, discover, record and/or celebrate Scotland’s places, people and stories. Falkirk’s Third Sector Employability Forum: October Meeting
Falkirk’s Third Sector Employability Forum’s October meeting takes place next Wednesday 18th October, 10am – 11am, online via Zoom. The meeting will feature the launch of CVS Falkirk’s report on our Third Sector Employability Summit in August, which will include a first look at our findings from the day, and an overview of of how these findings will directly influence this Forum’s activities.
