Researchers from the University of Exeter are continuing their work in Grangemouth on the UKRI-funded research project, “Net Zero Sense of Place”. They will be holding an in-person workshop on industrial decarbonisation, for residents and other interested parties, on Thursday 2nd November, 4pm – 7pm at Grangemouth Town Hall, 27 Bo’ness Road, Grangemouth, FK3 8AN.

Key is recruiting an Admin Assistant. The position is 25 – 30 hours per week, with a wage of £11.39 per hour (increasing to £11.69 per hour from Saturday 23rd December), based in Falkirk. The deadline for applications is Friday 3rd November.

Just Enterprise and Growing Climate Confidence are delivering a series of 5 webinars to help social enterprises and third sector groups and organisations on their journey to Net Zero. Through the Trusthouse Charitable Foundation’s Major Grants Fund, grants of up to £100,000 are available for community groups, social enterprises and smaller third sector organisations with a focus on family support.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is providing funds to distribute community grants of £500 and £1000 for community groups and organisations to run events during British Science Week 2024, which will take place from Friday 8th March – Sunday 17th March. The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on Monday 6th November 2023.

The latest round of the Community Choices programme is now live and open for project idea submissions. Falkirk Council has organised free information sessions to help local people and community groups learn more about how Community Choices works. The deadline for project submissions is 11:59pm on Friday 1st December.

The McCarthy Stone Foundation is offering 30 grants of up to £1,000 each to support local groups that are organising events and activities for people over the 65 years old, during the festive period (Friday 1st December 2023 – Tuesday 2nd January 2024). No deadline has been specified, but as the amount of funding is restricted, groups are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

The deadline is approaching for Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership’s (HSCP) online consultation on 2 proposed new Equality Outcomes for health and social care services, closing to new responses next Friday 27th October.
