Buy Social Fair at The Melting Pot
In partnership with Social Enterprise Scotland and Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network, The Melting Pot Edinburgh is pleased to announce their first Buy Social Fair happening on Saturday 29 March 2025, 11am – 4pm, at their premises in 15 Calton Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8DL. Featuring 20 social businesses selling everything from gifts to crafts and foodie delights, there is also the opportunity to hear 3 inspiring talks throughout the day. There is a suggested donation of £5 per ticket.
Disclosure Scotland and Changes: Information Sessions
Following the announcement of Disclosure Scotland and the changes to their services from Tuesday 1 April (when the PVG scheme becomes a legal requirement in Scotland under the new Disclosure (Scotland) Act), Volunteer Scotland is running a series of very useful online sessions to help groups and organisations understand what is changing and how it impacts them. The next in-depth session takes place this coming Monday 24 February, 10am – 12pm, while the next informal online drop-in is Wednesday 26 February, 10am – 11am.

“Cycling Without Age” Free Movie Night
Cycling Without Age Scotland (CWAS), which has its roots here in Falkirk District, is hosting a free Movie Night on Saturday 1 March 2025 from 5pm, in the Kelpies Visitor Centre of the Helix Park, Grangemouth, FK2 7ZT, where they will be showing their award-winning film, “Cycling Without Age”! The event is completely free, but spaces are limited, and booking is essential.
Free Tamfourhill Climate Change Activity Event
Tamfourhill Community Hub is holding a free Climate Change Activity Event for young people aged 10 – 16 years old, taking place this Sunday 23 February 2025, 11am – 2pm at their centre, Machrie Court, Tamfourhill, FK1 4SD. The event aims to help young people learn about active travel, carbon footprint and environmentally friendly food in fun as well as hands-on workshops, along with freebies to take away.
ASP Multi-Agency Conference: Thank You!
Our team at CVS Falkirk & District would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us at Wednesday’s Falkirk Adult Support and Protection (ASP) Multi-Agency Conference, including our partners from the public sector and local third sector groups (including members of the Safer and Empowered Communities Forum, which focuses on issues affecting communities, and community cohesion). The event focused on the theme of “Financial Harm Affecting Older Adults”, providing resources, information and learning to help attendees supporting older people across Falkirk District who may be vulnerable and at risk of financial harm or abuse.
