In partnership with Social Enterprise Scotland and Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network, The Melting Pot Edinburgh is pleased to announce their first Buy Social Fair happening on Saturday 29 March 2025, 11am – 4pm, at their premises in 15 Calton Road, Edinburgh, EH8 8DL.
Featuring 20 social businesses selling everything from gifts to crafts and foodie delights, there is also the opportunity to hear 3 inspiring talks throughout the day. Why not go along and “buy social” to support Scottish businesses doing good for people and planet.
Amongst others, vendors on the day will include:
- School Yard Kitchen: “In our Scottish kitchen, we blend the flavours of Ghana, crafting honest, quality food products that reflect our commitment to excellence. Every purchase directly contributes to sustainable development initiatives in both Ghana and Scotland.”
- Coin Operated Press CIC: “An artist-led social enterprise run by Chloe Henderson. We facilitate creative workshops, host zine fairs, manage the DJCAD Zine Library, and produce, publish, and distribute collaborative zines every month.”
- Grassmarket Community Project: “Selling gifts such as tartan, woodwork and candles. Through social enterprise, mentoring, education and support in a nurturing environment, the Project creates opportunities for those furthest from mainstream education and employment.”
- Summerhall Distillery: “Home to Pickering’s Gin and The Broody Hen Scotch Whisky situated in the heart of Edinburgh. We now offer gin and whisky experiences, ranging from a distillery tour, gin & history, cheese & cocktail masterclass, speakeasy experience, and whisky tasting & tales.”
- Hot Air Rises: “In a throw-away society, Hot Air Rises seeks to repurpose, reimagine and redesign previously loved garments. I’ll be selling my handmade clay worry mountain pets, scrunchies with hidden zip pockets, brass, copper and silver jewellery, plus I’ll be introducing my new collection of PVA plant-based plastic jewellery.”
- Upmo Retail: “A charity and registered care provider that provides support and opportunity for adults with learning disabilities and autism throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians. We’ll be selling handmade eco-resin plant pots and coasters, screen printed T-shirt, macramé plant hangers and more!”
- Boomerang Woodworking CIC: “Boomerang is a community-driven wood workshop in Maryhill, Glasgow, providing a space for people to learn and share skills in sustainable woodwork.”
