Scotland Draft Climate Change Plan Engagement: Open for Views
Last month, Scottish Government published its draft Climate Change Plan, which sets out how Scotland intends to meet its emission reduction targets across all sectors of the economy. Scottish Parliament has 120 days to scrutinise the Plan; the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee will lead this work before reporting back to Scottish Government with conclusions and recommendations. To make sure the voices of people across Scotland are heard, the Committee has launched an online engagement platform where anyone can share their views on the draft Plan. The deadline for responses is Sunday 25 January 2026.

YouthVIP has published a new briefing paper, “Scotland’s Poverty-Related Youth Volunteering Gap”, based on its recent research project to create a current picture of youth volunteering in Scotland.
“Volunteering: A Human Rights and Equalities First Approach” Online Training
Third Sector Human Rights and Equalities (THRE) is holding an online training session on Monday 16 February 2026, 1pm – 4pm, via Zoom. “Volunteering – A Human Rights and Equalities First Approach” is a free course for anyone working in Scotland’s third sector, who is responsible for (or involved with) a volunteering programme and is interested in learning why and how to take a human rights and equalities to your work.
Morrison Foundation Grants
The Morrisons Foundation is offering grants of up to £10,000 to registered charities delivering projects that make a positive impact in communities across Scotland, England, and Wales. Funding is available for both capital costs and direct project delivery, with priority given to smaller organisations with an annual income under £1 million, particularly those operating in areas served by Morrisons stores.
Wooden Spoon Pass the Plate Campaign
Wooden Spoon, the children’s charity of rugby, has launched its Pass the Plate campaign to address child hunger and food insecurity, and support vulnerable young people. The initiative will fund grants for not-for-profit organisations and schools delivering food-related projects for children and young people under 25 years old. Eligible schemes include breakfast clubs, food banks, holiday hunger programmes, and community initiatives improving access to nutritious meals.
HES Heritage & Place Programme
Historic Environment Scotland (HES) has launched the Heritage & Place Programme, an area-based fund aimed at supporting community-led regeneration in Scotland’s historic places. Eligible applicants include local authorities, national park authorities, and experienced not-for-profit organisations. The deadline for Expressions of Interest is Friday 16 January 2026, with full Development Phase applications due by Friday 7 August 2026.
