Scottish Government has reintroduced a fee waiver for Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) applications for certain new paid roles within the Social Care Sector, and comparable roles in Justice and Children’s services. Anyone starting a new job in certain roles within these sectors are now eligible to have their PVG costs paid, if they apply for PVG before Friday 31st March 2023.

Polmont Community Council Garden Area Work
Polmont Community Council is working to improve their local community and local garden areas. They are currently working on one of these with the local playgroup, which is 50 years old this year. They will sink a time capsule, and place a commemorative sign in the garden, which will then be planted with perennials.
New Falkirk Energy Grants Page Launched
Falkirk Council has launched their new Energy Grants webpage (located in the Benefits & Support section of their website). The page contains a range of information on support available for energy costs, with eligibility criteria and directions on how to access support.

Link Cost of Living Community Event
As part of their response to the cost of living crisis, the Link Group is organising a number of community events this winter in various locations across central Scotland. The Falkirk event will take place on Tuesday 29th November, 2:30pm – 4:30pm, at the Dawson Centre, David’s Loan, Langlees, FK2 7RG, open to everyone.

Pride Outside CIC is running 2 free “How to be a Great Trans Ally” workshops via Zoom, both on Thursday 24th November: lunchtime session, 1pm – 2pm; evening session, 8pm – 9pm. The workshops are open to anyone who would like to learn more about trans inclusion, and will feature a live Q&A.
