Fathers Network Scotland is hosting an online launch event, “Journey Into Fatherhood”, on Tuesday 3 February 2026, 2pm – 3:30pm, via Zoom, exploring the transition into fatherhood. The session will highlight findings from the Journey Into Fatherhood report, exploring fathers’ experiences, challenges, sources of support and what they feel would make the transition into fatherhood easier.

Stroke Prevention Day Awareness and Resources
For Stroke Prevention Day on Thursday 29 January 2026, the Stroke Association is asking people to raise awareness of the biggest risk factor for stroke – high blood pressure (or hypertension) – and the simple steps everyone can take to reduce our risk.
Digital Skills Scotland Free Online Course: Enrolment Closing Soon
Through Digital Skills Scotland, Glasgow Kelvin College is offering adults in Scotland the chance to gain digital marketing skills with a fully-funded online course. The Digital Marketing course has limited places available, and aims to help people build practical, job-ready skills for 2026 and beyond. The course consists of 8 online units. The deadline for enrolment is Saturday 24 January 2026.
Rewilding Britain’s Rewilding Innovation Fund
Rewilding Britain is offering grants of up to £15,000 through its Rewilding Innovation Fund to support creative and impactful rewilding projects across Britain. Applications are welcomed from community groups, landowners, and land managers in both public and private sectors. The deadline for applications is Saturday 28 February 2026.
PVG Regulated Roles Guidance Updates
Disclosure Scotland has updated its Regulated Roles Guidance around the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme, introducing key changes, including a clearer explanation of the term “necessary part of the role” to support groups and organisations in assessing whether a role is regulated.
Make Your Mark Conference Digital Posters Opportunity
The deadline for digital poster submissions to be displayed at Make Your Mark’s Inclusive Volunteering Conference is this coming Monday 19 January 2026. Volunteer managers are invited to submit a digital poster design for display at the conference, showcasing their volunteer programme and its impact to attendees, which will include other volunteer-involving organisations, along with funders and policymakers.
Naturewatch Foundation’s Pet Rescue Grant
The Pet Rescue Grant by Naturewatch Foundation supports animal welfare projects in the UK focusing on rescuing and rehabilitating dogs, cats, and rabbits impacted by the illegal pet trade. Eligible non-profit organisations can apply for a main grant of up to £10,000, or a mini grant of up to £1,000, which aim to provide funding for veterinary care, behavioural support, facilities, and training. Expressions of interest open on Saturday 24 January 2026 and close on Saturday 14 February 2026.
Screwfix Foundations Grants
The Screwfix Foundation is inviting applications from charities and not-for-profit organisations for projects which improve properties and community facilities for individuals facing financial hardship, sickness, disability, distress, or other disadvantage. Grants of approximately £5,000 are available to support a wide range of initiatives. The next application deadline is Tuesday 10 February 2026.
Shaping Healthier Food Environments Publications Published
In collaboration with Public Health Scotland (PHS), Nesta has published 2 new resources exploring how Scotland’s planning system can help create healthier food environments, and reduce obesity and health inequalities. The resources highlight opportunities within the National Planning Framework 4 and the preparation of Local Development Plans (LDPs), to better integrate public health considerations into planning policy.
Consultation on Draft Statutory Guidance for Domestic Homicide and Suicide Reviews
Scottish Government has launched a consultation on draft statutory guidance for Domestic Homicide and Suicide Reviews, due to come into force on Wednesday 1 April 2026. The guidance will set out how reviews are established, conducted and reported, and will be relevant to many third sector organisations involved in safeguarding, prevention and support. The consultation runs until 11:50pm on Wednesday 11 February 2026. A series of online engagement sessions will also take place in January and February 2026 to explain the guidance and answer questions, ahead of submitting consultation responses.
