The Community Learning Exchange (CLE), delivered by the Scottish Community Alliance (SCA) and funded by Scottish Government, provides small grants to help community groups across Scotland learn from one another through peer-to-peer exchange and collaboration.
The programme supports visits, either in person or online, which enable groups to share experiences, develop new ideas, and learn from organisations which have successfully implemented projects or approaches they would like to replicate in their own communities. The aim is to strengthen community-led activity by encouraging mutual support, collaboration and the sharing of practical knowledge.
Funding of up to £1,000 is available for in-person exchanges, covering costs such as travel, accommodation, subsistence and host fees. Virtual exchanges can receive funding of up to £200 to support planning and delivery.
To be eligible, applicants must be community groups operating in Scotland and receive endorsement from a relevant Scottish Community Alliance network member. Applicants are encouraged to identify their learning objectives and host organisation before applying.
As part of SCA member the TSI Scotland Network, CVS Falkirk & District is happy to support local groups with their applications.
There is no set deadline for applications. Applications can take up to three weeks to be approved and funds released after submission, and those looking to apply are encouraged to plan this into arranging dates for their exchanges.
