The Third Sector Human Rights and Equalities project launches their Connectors Lunchtime Webinars next week, with the first session taking place on Wednesday 10th May, 12pm – 1pm. This webinar will feature a presentation and Q&A session from Shelley Gray at the Corra Foundation, which will look at how human rights and equalities are being integrated into Corra’s funding work.

Upcoming Falkirk Third Sector Forums in May
The next Falkirk Third Sector Forums take place: Funding Officers Network (FON) on Wednesday 10th May, 10am – 12pm; Safer and Empowered Communities (SAEC) Forum on Wednesday 24th May, 10am – 12pm.
CVS Falkirk May Bank Holiday Open Hours
The CVS Falkirk team will be off on Monday 1st May for the May Day bank holiday weekend, returning to work the morning of Tuesday 2nd May. We will also be closed on Monday 8th May for the additional bank holiday marking the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. We will then return to work on Tuesday 9th May.
Forth Valley Group Riding for the Disabled Secretary
Forth Valley Group Riding for the Disabled has a new opportunity for a Secretary to join their committee on a voluntary basis. The Secretary position requires a time commitment of 2 – 4 hours per week as, well as attending committee meetings every 4 – 6 weeks. The Secretary will be required to produce agendas and minutes, and also carry out general admin tasks.
Active Communities Programme: Open for Applications
The People’s Health Trust’s Active Communities Programme is now open for applications, via Health Lottery Scotland (focusing on a number of areas, including Falkirk District). Funding of £5,000 – £40,000 is available for projects lasting up to 2 years, from small and local projects, designed and run by local people. The closing date for Stage 1 applications is 1pm on Wednesday 3rd May.
PAS Sustaining Choices Programme for Communities
Planning Aid Scotland (PAS) has launched the third round of their Sustaining Choices programme, which is open for applications for the 2023/24 intake. This programme works with up to 7 community groups each round to create Active and Sustainable Travel Action Plans. The deadline for applications is 12pm on Tuesday 2nd May.
CFSLA Funding Round Closing Soon
The Clackmannanshire, Falkirk & Stirling Local Authority Staff Lottery (CFSLA) committee will next meet on Monday 24th April to assess submitted applications for funding. They will accept applications for this round before this point; any applications submitted after the meeting will not be assessed until the next committee meeting.
Closing Soon: Consultation on Community Wealth Building Legislation
Scottish Government’s consultation on Community Wealth Building (CWB) legislation closes to new responses on Tuesday 9th May. Community Wealth Building is a people-centred approach to creating a more inclusive economy. Scottish Government’s consultation focuses on proposed legislation; they welcome a wide range of views on the changes required to grow local wealth and give communities a greater stake in the economy.
Vaping and Young People eLearning Module
ASH Scotland has launched their new eLearning module, Vaping and Young People. This module will look at vaping amongst young people, and the risks involved, and includes a short guide on how to respond.
Bainsford Community Hall Weekly Events
Bainsford Community Hall in David’s Loan, Bainsford, FK2 7NS, holds weekly events, where everyone is welcome to come along and have some food, warmth, crafts, games and chat with others. Events include Wellbeing Sessions, Thursdays, 1pm – 3pm (run by Falkirk Baptist Church), and Craft Café, Fridays, 11:30am – 2:30pm.
