Eid in the Park This Weekend!
Eid in the Park returns to Falkirk this Sunday 13th August, 12pm – 4pm, at its new venue in the Helix Park! There will be family-friendly activities (including a bouncy castle, a unicorn assault course face and henna painting, and pony rides), stalls from local organisations and charities, bagpipes, and a range of food and sweets, amongst others.
Speakers Announced: Falkirk Third Sector Employability Summit
We can now confirm our speakers for the Falkirk Third Sector Employability Summit next month, taking place on Thursday 24th August, 9:30am – 12:30pm, at Forth Valley Sensory Centre. Our speakers will include team members from Into Work and The Poverty Alliance. The event is free to attend but booking is essential.
Brand for Growth Programme: 2023 Applications Open
Bold Studio’s Brand for Growth Programme is open for applications, with 3 places available for the 2023 programme. Successful applicants will take part in a bespoke rebranding exercise to align and strengthen their organisation. The deadline for applications is Friday 25th August.
VoiceAbility Support Session and Service Team Volunteers
VoiceAbility (a UK-wide charity which provides benefits advocacy to disabled people and people applying on behalf of family or people they care for) is searching for both Support Session and Service Volunteers! The roles are open to volunteers aged 18 years old and over. Expenses will be paid, and volunteers will have access to VoiceAbility benefits.
People’s Experience Volunteers
Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) is looking for People’s Experience Volunteers, a new role designed to help them better include people’s views in their work. People’s Experience Volunteers will help HIS include and be mindful of people’s different experiences of health and care, to make sure that public views are better represented in their work.
FVMSN Social Media Volunteer
The Forth Valley Migrant Support Network (FVMSN) aims to support, empower and represent migrant workers and people whose first language is not English, in the Falkirk District area. There is an opportunity to join their team of volunteers as their Social Media Volunteer!
Tamfourhill Community Hub Cake Stall Bakers
Tamfourhill Community Hub is looking to have a cake stall at the upcoming Tamfourhill Community Fun Day on Wednesday 2nd August, in order to raise funds for the hub. The are looking for anyone who would be willing to make cakes and baked goods they can sell from the stall.
CARES Net Zero Community Funding
Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) aims to support communities to engage with, participate in and benefit from the energy transition to net zero emissions. The Fund is designed to help community organisations reduce building energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions, and is planned to run until the end of March 2025.
Changes to Scottish Charity Law
Last month, Scottish Parliament voted in favour of the Charities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Bill, and it is anticipated that the Bill will receive royal assent later this year. This Act of Parliament aims to strengthen and update the current Scottish charity law.
